Uh yeah the long-term storytelling here seems to make it so that The Rock has been manipulating things behind the scenes against Roman and co. He didn't expect Cody and Roman to be on such good terms back at Badd Blood and that's why he showed up.

Roman has zero reason to trust The Rock when it's been nothing but thinly veiled hostility between each other for a while.

Tbh the rock never showed him any hostility. He was completely cooperative with him and went after Cody Rhodes on his behalf.

Except the whole thing started cuz Rock wanted to fight Roman to see who the real tribal chief was and when that didn’t happen he even just started calling himself the final boss which would imply he is above the Tribal Chief

Am I thinking too much into it or was Paul returning and wearing that red shirt under his suit jacket foreshadowing of something? I know the red colour is Bloodline coded but Heyman has always worn a normal button up shirt whereas Solo often wore a red shirt under his suit jacket.
