SmackDown World Cup to begin next week!​

With the FIFA World Cup due to start this month, WWE will host a World Cup tournament of its own! The SmackDown World Cup on FOX will begin next week with an array of international Superstars due to take part.

The winner of the tournament will receive an Intercontinental Championship Match against Gunther, so the stakes are extremely high.

Santos Escobar looks to grow Legado del Fantasma by dispatching Shinsuke Nakamura​

Legado del Fantasma’s empire is surely growing, but there’s one obstacle in the way: The King of Strong Style.

Two weeks ago, Nakamura backed up Hit Row in their Six-Man Tag Team Match against Legado del Fantasma. Nakamura proved to be an X-factor, getting the win for his team.

Now, Nakamura will take on Santos Escobar, the leader of Legado del Fantasma, who will look to silence The King of Strong Style.

Can Escobar grow his empire by winning his first singles match on SmackDown, or will Nakamura prove to be too much of a challenge?​

No graphic up for it yet but The New Day vs. The Usos for the tag titles is also confirmed. I believe they said that if The Uso's win, they beat The New Days record.​

Wonder if they do the same thing they did with the New Day the night that they broke the record.

New Day had a title defense scheduled; they retained. Some fuckery occurred and New Day was forced to defend again in the main event. They retained once more.

Kept it unpredictable; especially considering New Day’s first defense was at like the top of the 9pm hour

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Jey Uso is dealing with a potential injury.

Michael Cole noted on commentary that Jey believes he suffered a broken wrist while on the WWE tour of Europe this past week.

Cole noted that Jey is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, and an update should be available at that point.​

Not sure if they're kayfabing this or if it's legit but it's interesting either way heading into the big match on SmackDown.

Records on the line as The Usos defend tag team gold against The New Day​

History is on the line this Friday as The Usos defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against The New Day. If The Usos are victorious, they will be the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions ever, meaning that they would surpass The New Day’s previous record.

The New Day are not happy with this and seek to protect their record against The Usos.

Coming off their big win over The Brawling Brutes at WWE Crown Jewel, The Usos seem to have the momentum heading into this fierce contest. The two teams are no strangers to each other, having fought on multiple occasions, including a Hell in a Cell Match.

Will The New Day keep their record intact by dethroning The Usos, or will The Usos remain “the ones”?​
