It's not random though. The first time they did it, some trouble was happening backstage and at the end of the show we realized it was because of Dexter. Doudrop and Nikki were seen arguing a couple of times and that made their last appearance on NXT seem more important as they could have imploded after another lost.

I really like that new trend, it makes the backstage area look more alive.
