Actually this has become a new tradition with wwe. They change wwe champions on the go home show before survivor series. AJ Styles won the title from Jinder Mahal right before SS, Daniel Bryan won the title from AJ Styles right before SS, and now Drew won the title from Randy.

Just another weird thing Vince has his mind locked on.
