It was still dumb regardless of those two's feelings and I find it interesting that the "he's just portraying an idiot" line verbatim has been used in a lot of posts outside this forum to "defend" the line. Makes the paranoid side of me there's some clear messaging being pushed along *tin foil hat*

which I think much like the Hunter being a moron in saying he doesn't see color...another own goal. It's not even that big of a deal, it's true, and it could so easily be handled by a oops that was dumb we wont do that again. The more they defend it the more people are gonna talk about it.

I do wonder if Carlito might get a harsher punishment just to try and prove those writers from the Rolling Stone article wrong bc they literally said "Vince made this racist and sexist culture and it can't be changed overnight" so this was the worst timing possible for him to say something like this (yes I know there would be no good time).

I don't think he deserves it but he's so expendable, he could definitely be made an example of, but rn they might just be assuming it'll blow over (and they're probably right)

yeah ive just seen it verbatim before the srs stuff even came out on reddit posts. multiple times. I should start keeping track of users as I am pretty sure a few of them are straight up WWE social media employees. Ain't no way clips from live nxt is getting clipped and posted that fast by regular ass marks lol

I don't even think it's need to be an explanation from the WWE tbh, it's pretty clear just from seeing his segments on the show. The dude asked Pearce in his segment if he got a new haircut and then had the segment with TJD where he told Dom about the match he got him that made him look an absolute buffoon.

Yeah I think most people just think they need to have some sort of discussion, not just with Carlito but with everyone. And then the actual racists just expose themselves so more for my block list

I didn't see many or any (idk) people call for his head either. So I also find the downplaying depressing. Or acting like it's only white people upset. or acting like iyo and kairi speak for all asians. like cmon people lol

WWE should just not address it and just continue on as normal. Fine, don’t do it again but you don’t need to make a huge deal out of it or punish Carlito

I doubt they address it when they did not address Logan's bullshit. They are fully in the ignore until next news cycle camp, they do this with mostly everything unless they see an opportunity to turn it into business (like the rock cody stuff)

Thanks for reminding me of another reason why I'm glad Vickie will hopefully never have a job in wrestling again but she might already have one of those cheap legends deals, she made a cameo a few weeks ago on SmackDown I think

A better AEW comparison would probably be that Spanish commentator that was making similarly racist jokes about Asian wrestlers unless your point was you just don't get why Asian jokes are offensive lol
