tbh theyve been having it both ways for a while, makes it so ur pretty much never allowed to criticize nxt about anything. if u say some of the wrestling or promos are subpar u get told its developmental. if you complain main roster stars come down to beat everyone you get told its a third brand. pretty sweet gig.

well i think the mix also helps the product and the younger people who aren't developed yet, it's not just a buffer from criticism I don't think anyone cares about that but the tribal fans that need to defend everything

To be fair it’s both

It is where a lot of these people are cutting their teeth on everything that is sports entertainment and it’s also a place that has talent that can be on par with sd and raw talent so that when some superstars come down it’s not such a mismatch

yeah I get what you saying. I'm sure they don't care about criticism regardless, they never really have anyways. But yeah its annoying when diehards use both statements to defend anything

fwiw I do think it is overall a better show than any older NXT model, outside of the black and gold PPVs. I do think ppl had rose tinted glasses before too because the weekly 1h nxt shows were extremely hit n miss and sometimes outright snoozefests . cant say that about the new product even if I dont love it personally

yeah black n gold was the least developmental of any version, it was like 90% established major indie stars outside of a few projects...like Nia Jax
