Does Breeze do work down in NXT? He's in this one and was in another video where someone called him coach I think

Rob Van Dam was originally supposed to do something else at the special WWE NXT on The CW episode from 2300 Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena, earlier this month.

During a special live episode of the 1 Of A Kind with Rob Van Dam podcast on November 14, WWE Hall of Fame legend Rob Van Dam reflected on his appearance on the special ECW nostalgia edition of NXT on CW from November 6.

While looking back at his experience in his old stomping grounds of WWE for a trip down memory lane for his even older stomping grounds of ECW, “The Whole F’N Show” revealed that there were originally different plans for him on the show.

“More time is needed to get more information, but basically, I think that you would not be wrong if you thought that maybe there was some plans that got changed,” RVD said of the change-in-plans for his WWE NXT appearance on 11/6 in Philadelphia, PA. “And if so, that it was done for the betterment of me and for my well-being. Let me just leave it there for now.”

Van Dam continued, “I will definitely talk more about this when I have more to talk about. Little early right now though. I wanted to wrestle too. I was really bummed. I will be back, too. I will be back, so there’s that.”

Definitely felt like they were building into him having a match so it was a bit weird. What is he trying to say though in regards to why the plans changed because i'm almost reading it like something medically flagged up for them and they wanted to play it safe?

Yeah I was waiting for him to confirm but I had gotten that vibe from how people were talking about it that it was a last minute medical thing that had plans changed. You can just kinda tell how guys word things when they've been told exactly something but they don't want to say it "officially"

I don't know this for a fact but I assume WWE makes anyone getting physical take some kind of quick physical prior and something must have came up that possibly even RVD wasn't aware of, or he was and it's just a more minor thing that WWE didn't wanna risk for liability

That's what I assumed because the whole "more time is needed" part really doesn't fit with any other logical explanation like them just changing their minds last minute and not having him wrestle. Might just end up turning into a blessing in disguise for him.

I don't really think he was ever planned to wrestle on the show just bc I feel like they would have announced that first, but now that I think about it, since he was there the week prior to do that setup with nothing official announced, they probably knew then and were weighing options before deciding no physicality whatsoever

Someone posted an old news piece from PWInsider on Reddit about the quote we were discussing which is quite interesting

Dec 5, 2017 PWInsider reported;

"As part of his divorce proceedings, RVD claims that a concussion he suffered on an independent show left him with visual impairment and long-lasting issues, hence why he can't return to the WWE. I guess the point being that him not being able to return to the WWE has impacted the amount of money he earns and thus impacting how much money he'd be able to give his wife for financial support"

I had to look it up because I thought he must have done something physical in the WWE since then but he literally hadn't from glancing over Wikipedia, just appearing on the draft shows and such.
