Live NXT August 20th 2024 Discussion Thread - Championship opportunities to be decided

This NXT made me unnecessarily excited about TNA. Think about it. Josh dethrones Nemeth in the Iron Man at Emergence. Then he goes over to No Mercy to screw Joe Hendry out of his NXT Title shot. We get a North mini-reunion for some NXT TV (two-Canadian power trip vs. Hendry and Trick in front of that first CW crowd YES FUCKING PLEASE) and that leads to the big money match, Josh Alexander vs. Joe Hendry at Bound for Glory 2024 in Detroit. It's almost TOO perfect.

Expected winner in the end, you'd almost forget Hendry is from TNA given how comfortable he is on NXT.

I literally thought of this same scenario last night, I feel like Joe vs Josh at BFG is almost confirmed now with how they've been kept a part since Slammy

Yes it was reported back in June I believe, another name on a long list of knee injuries in NXT.

Gigi was a little out of shape at some point last year but she got back into it when she was in a storyline with Grace, on the other hand her ring work I found subpar, especially after Toxic Attraction disbanded and she was on her own.

Think she lost her confidence a bit. As she was good before and I'm sure when she comes back she'll have a point to prove.

It lays out well aside from the (possibly) two quick title changes that have to happen if Hendry were to win at BFG. Now…Nemeth…that’s fine as a transitional champion. But you have to follow it up with another short one for Josh if the plan is to belt Hendry. Now…it doesn’t really matter. Heel Alexander is awesome. Hendry is their top babyface. That should be the match.

The one thing I go back to is when Jordynne Grace teased surprises at Slammiversary that didn’t happen because of the big travel issue that happened that weekend. This was before Fightful mentioned possible plans for Alexander in NXT…but my first thought when Josh turned heel was that they might have been planning that North reunion and planning to belt him on that show. But it couldn’t happen and they had to wait. It would line up with when Fightful started talking about Alexander”s possible imminent plans…because if they had done it that weekend…it was right then he would have started popping up. So you belt Nemeth because you can’t belt Hendry yet…and you don’t want to belt Alexander until you can get the Page part to align. You could have just left it on Moose but you’d end up heel vs heel and that doesn’t help Josh’s turn.

The short version is…yeah…please let the North reunion happen and give us a couple months of tv where both are champions of their respective shows being chased down by Trick and Hendry. Because that is the good stuff.
