I can't believe they've decided to turn Cena heel now, when he's on his retirement run and supposed final year in the company as a wrestler, especially after fans have been begging for the turn for years. It is awesome though and was well executed. I won't be at all surprised if he actually beats Rhodes for the title at Wrestlemania now. I wonder if he'll also actually turn around and pull a Wolf of Wall Street "I ain't fuckin' leavin'!" just to add more heat to his character. Though I suppose there's plenty of time for him to hold the title for a while before dropping it before 2025 is done, though you'd expect somethign of that magnitude to happen at one of the big ppv's if not the biggest.
Either way, the turn was done really well, Cena becoming and embracing everything that he criticised The Rock for being when he was 'part time' is just a classic ignorance is bliss moment and will lean well into his heel character. I hope to God he gets a spray tan soon though, he looks pasty as hell these days and it's not a good look for him.
Travis Scott being there for the whole thing was weird. Pretty funny, but also gave us shades of Dennis Rodman running with Hollywood Hogan and the NWO. I've seen reports hat there are plans for him to wrestle too down the line, not sure I wasnt to see that. I'm all for celebrities getting in the ring if they're serious about it and put in the work but he doesn't strike me as the type to have the natural talent for it, unlike Logan Paul or Bad Bunny for example.
As others have pointed out, The Rock is clearly counting down from 3 to 1, this was 2 so we'll have to wait and see what the 1 will be. He banged on about being a long gamer in the post show press conference so there's definitely a plan in place for that I would imagine.
I've not watched the rest of the show yet (made sure to watch the main event aftermath given what happened) so will check back in after watching to give thoughts on the rest.
