Yeah that's what I was thinking.

Was thinking Punk wins, then they do Cody saying no and, you can just not have a post match beatdown or something Rock just I guess tells Cody he asked for this, then leaves. Have Cody and Punk do a little promo battle for a couple weeks, build the match. End of the month Rock comes back, and says he found a man who was willing to sell his soul to him, to get what he wanted, Cena comes out and Rock uses his powers to just add Cena to the match.


But honestly with how this played out. This was way fucking better.

They didn’t turn Cena heel after two plus decades in his final months to make his match a three way.

They didn’t do it for him to turn back in a month or two either.

And they didn’t do it for him to lose immediately at Mania

And they didn’t do it to continue to chase 17 as a heel.

This is the biggest card they had. They didn’t play it to immediately water it down. He’s winning. And he’s going to be a total shit about breaking the record.

i find it funny that anyone can watch how slowly storylines move in Hunter’s WWE and honestly convince themselves they will burn through a Cena heel run by May with a big loss in his first match or CM Punk weaseling his way into the match. I don’t know how there can be anyone who doesn’t like the heel turn (reading on Facebook), that was the biggest heel turn since Hogan. Cena’s first 3 years as heel are mostly forgotten (though I did enjoy), he’s been face for so long, this just felt amazing and shocking. I didn’t even think anything of him still standing there, I just thought ok, Cody coming out cuz this is what we are getting, they’re gonna just go face to face and maybe shake hands for respect, wasn’t phased by Rock coming out as he was anyway, got a great laugh at Cena giggling his balls off in the background, then fucking lost my mind when he did the look and Rock did the throat cut.
