Antonia “Toya†Johnson, the mother of one of Wayne’s children, tells Us Weekly, “Wayne has a job. They got him on suicide watch for other prisoners. He watches the crazy prisoners and makes sure they don’t kill themselves.†Finding himself in a 9-to-5, albeit in prison, Weezy shares a similar complaint with much of the working population. “He likes the job even though they don’t pay him much,†Toya says of the Young Money multimillionaire. Toya adds that Lil Wayne is adjusting well to prison life, and getting along with his fellow inmates. He’s even managed to avoid getting a haircut.

Out of everyone to stop someone from killing themselves, they choose Lil' Wayne.

The part that sticks out to me, from a musical standpoint is "Best selling rapper on the planet" *Points to sig* does the name Marshall Mathers ring a bell? But I digress....

I am pretty sure that his celebrity is what got him what sounds like a no brainer job. Typically jail jobs are like doing laundry and cooking. Lil' Wayne gets to sit around and watch the crazies all day lol.

Inmates always have jobs that pay wages. Something like a janitor makes might make 40 cents a day. The higher paying jobs yield up to $2 or maybe $3 dollars a day. Inmates can go to the commissary and purchase soda, cookies, canned foods at wholesale prices. The highest paying prison job in NC that I know of is the Tag plant. They make license plates, (Yup, they really do that). They make $13 dollars a week. That's movin' on up!

You have to give them something to do or else the prison crimes would be even higher than they already are.
