It's been statistically proven that all people who have died have also eaten and drunk water. Avoid those two.

It's hyperbole but shows the issue with this logic. Everything we do brings us closer to death admittedly some more than others. Smoking may make his life more enjoyable so why not live 50 years happy than a 100 unhappy?

I rarely smoke (usually when I'm drunk I'll have a few drags) so I don't condone smoking but also I struggle to vilify it.
