Why are most people so cynical bearing in mind how WWE treated the last high-flyer that debuted? (i.e. Bourne)

I think that the only reason Bourne is in the position that he is in the E now, is because how the fans connected with him so fast. I think he was supose to just be a jobber but the way he connected with fans, got him to not be a jobber. This is just my speculation. I've been a fan a Low Ki for some time, so I'm hoping the E does good with him and not change up his unique style too much.

I doubt that. He debuted against Shelton Benjamin, who was in the mist of a push in ECW, and he only lost by count out, he wasn't even pinned. The week after that he was already defeating Mike Knox in a tag match.

Certainly WWE didn't expect him to get this big, in which when put against Rey Mysterio crowd would actually get divided, but he wasn't destined to be a jobber.

^^^...Indeed, I also struggle with the concept of WWE allowing a mere jobber to resurrect a previously banned move (i.e. The SSP).

Low Ki would be aweosome on ECW. Though for his sake he would just be burried they already have Bourne and Mysterio goign over as high flyers and they won't be using someone like him. He should just go back to TNA if he wants a decent mid card title. imo/

I saw someone say something to the effect of how Low Ki will probably just be a jobber. That might be true. But, Ki will be payed very well to be that jobber, which is why he took the job.

As far as his chances in the WWE, it's hard to say at this point. Most likely he'd debut on ECW, which he should hope for if he were to ever have a chance. All things considered, Ki should have just stayed with TNA. He would have had a much better chance.

Oh, and Ki will be fired inside of three years...if he makes it that long. He won't be able to get along with people in the WWE. I'm calling it now.
Anybody want to speculate on what they'll change his ring name to?
Senshi?

People who say Low Ki is a high flyer don't have a clue what they're talking about, really. Back in 2000/2001 he was considered a high flyer, but the style he wrestles nowadays is very different to that. He focusses on a strong style based around kicks (of course), which is extremely different from high flying.

WWE have never featured a wrestler with a strong style offense (that I'm aware of, correct me if I'm wrong), so I'm quite intruiged to see if they will allow Ki's offense to remain the same. The Ghetto Stomp (or whatever it's called now) must stay though. He makes that move looking fucking insane. Even with the lack of flips, I think it could well get the same reaction that a lot of Bourne's moves have drawn from the WWE audience. It's a big step up from Spike Dudley's weak double stomp/land on his opponent.

I would actually compare Ki to Punk alot. Both use kicks and stuffs, and look fairly stiffish. I mean, Punk's GTS has busted the nose of Snitsky and has made the nose of Rey bleed. So I still think that Ki will be allowed to use his current moveset, more or less a couple of moves gone or something.

the thing I'm interested with Ki in WWE is how they'll use him in a gimmick. There's the "warrior", badass, killer face that's just a beast in the ring, which we saw in TNA, early ROH and Japan. But then there's the street thug Low Ki, that made him seem more dangerous as a heel, and more interesting than just in-ring stuff.

I don't think WWE will have a problem with his moveset, that might have been why they signed him in the first place. When you're the most imitated wrestler on the indy scene for the past 7-8 years, you know that he's influential.

And Ki has an awesome speaking voice. WWE needs to use his voice for dramatic video packages.
