This is an idea that I've been considering for a little while now. I brought it up in the Smarkbox earlier today and I think we should be able to execute this fairly easily.
The concept of this thread is for members of the forum to sign-up and be paired off at random with another member of the forum. The two members will each suggest a song for one another that they think the other has never listened to, but might like. The point behind all this is to let folks try to share some music that they love and broaden their own horizons by checking out new music that is outside of their comfort zone.
So, it will work like this...
- Anyone can sign up. We just need to have an even number of people signed up at any given time, so in the event that someone drops out and makes it an odd number, I can remove myself from the pool for the time being.
- I will randomly pair everyone up, and once you have your partner, you will private message each other the songs that you want them to check out. You may ask your partners questions before making a suggestion, or you can just go in blind. It doesn't really matter how you want to approach it, that's up to you. Obviously if you get suggested a song that you already know, then you can ask to be suggested another one.
- This is simply for fun and is not meant to be troublesome, so I'm not really gonna ask much from y'all... BUT, I would like if after you get your suggestion and listen to the song, you come to the thread and make a post about it. I'm not looking for anything special (unless you want to write a bunch of shit). Simply something along the lines of "Chris recommended me "Come Together" by The Beatles. I was a fan of the song and would definitely listen again" or "Blaze recommended me "Dirt Road Anthem" by Jason Aldean. Wasn't my bag." would suffice.
So yeah, that's basically it. Post here if you want to get in on the action. And if you want to join, can you please include
