I upgraded myself mostly to donate to the site cause it gives me a lot of entertainment. I don't get it how a guy with a mortgage and 2 kids can afford a measly $15 or whatever it is for hours and hours of entertainment and others don't. It's not free to run a site with this kind of volume, help Crayo out and donate, whether you want the upgrade or not.

Everyone has a different situation. Just because you have a mortgage, 2 kids and can afford the money doesn't mean everyone can. Some of us pay ridiculous amounts of rent by ourselves because we can't find another place to live at the moment, have a few animals to pay for food each week, and then have other expenses, like groceries, laundry, etc., to pay for. You get to split costs with a wife. Some of us pay our way alone. It's not that I personally wouldn't want to help a site I go to, but, there are other things I need the money for. It may seem like small change to some people, but, it's another X amount of dollars I could use for a mini emergency, something I may really need, dinner for tonight, etc. Also, some people don't want to spend money on a site that they may not be in a year or two down the road (not saying that is me, I will probably stick around for a long while).

You can't judge everyone based on your own living situation. That's cool that you can put aside a bit of money for a website, but, not everyone feels that it's the best place their money can go.

I agree with Irwin, especially her last sentence. I don't think I'd ever donate to a forum/site (no matter how much I may enjoy it) unless I had a lot of extra cash. 15-25$ may not be a lot, but at the same time it can be used for other things that may be more important, or just better use of money (for example I'd much rather spend that on a couple of CDs, a gig/concert, some Lovecraftian book or just save it up for something else in the future).

tldr; I'm stingy and selfish.

I'm with Irwin as well. Although, I wouldn't mind donating, I always think that my money can be used on something better. But if the site needed money, I wouldn't mind donating $10 or so.
