(c) Shingo Takagi vs. Henare for the NEVER Openweight title. New Japan Soul. Takagi tries a few standing headbutts but he's getting the worse of those exchanges. Henare has a thick skull. Takagi, in a southpaw atance, peppers Henare with successive right jabs. Takagi with a side suplex and a vertical. When they're outside, Takagi press slams Henare on the edge of the ring apron.

Back in the ring, Henare fights back with body shots. Takagi with a standing reverse elbow and a clothesline. Takagi's reverse knife edge sends Henare to one knee. Takagi's clotheslines and punches are done with so much force. Henare with a flying headbutt. Takagi tries The Last of the Dragon, but Henare counters with a Fisherman's Buster. Henare tries the Fisherman's once more, but Takagi counters with a front facrlock. Henare grabs both of Takagi's arms, dazes him with the Kill Shot to become the new champ.

This was a Pier 6 brawl!

(c) Sho vs. El Desperado for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title. New Japan Soul. What was billed as a steel cage grudge match begins as a technical match. Sho goes for a go-behind waistlock on Desperado. Desperado turns his hips and counters with a front facelock.Drsperado with an armbar. Desperado briefly catches Sho in a chicken-wing. Desperado locks in a knee-bar and Sho wisely grabs the bottom rope. Desperado executes a pinche loco. Drsperado tries his finisher again, Sho pushes him towards the ref. Sho elbow drops the ref for good measure. House of Torture members throw steel chairs into the ring but it backfires. Desperado with a well done chair shot to Sho. Desperado with a package piledriver and a Super Pinche loco to become new champ.

Kenny Omega vs. Tomohiro Ishii. US G1 Finals. Ishii grinds a side headlock on Omega. Ishii tries a short clothesline which Omega ducks. Omega connects with a boot.

Ishii takes the fight to the bleachers. Omega briefly stuns Ishii and perches the steel rails attempting a moonsault. Ishii grabs Omega's tights. In the ring, Ishii snapmare's Omega and kicks him to the back of his shoulder blades. Omega plants him with a DDT. Omega with a Fireman's Carry and follows it up with a moonsault. Omega with a short dropkick to Ishii's shin. The Bucks have set-up a table on the edge of the ring apron. After a back-and-forth struggle, Omega half-and-half suplexes Ishii right through the table! How did Ishii recover from that move?

Ishii fights off Omega's finisher, counters with a DDT. Omega tries a victory roll; Ishii drops him on his head. Omega finally connects with a running V-Trigger. An exhausted Omega defeats Ishii with the One-Winged Angel to become the inaugural US Champion.

Jon Moxley vs. B-Boy vs. Eddie Kingston vs. Ego Fantastico. CZW Renaissance of Ultraviolence. Fourway match to determine the number 1 contender. A lot of entertaining highspots. Fantastico leapfrogs over Moxley and dropkicks him. Fantastico runs off the ropes but is met with a capture suplex by Kingston. Moxley leg sweeps Fantastico onto the steel rails. Kimgston fisherman suplexes Moxley over the top rope. Fantastico runs to the top of the ringpost and performs a Senton on everybody!

B-Boy tries a sleeper on Moxley. Moxley backs him up against the corner. Fantastico stiff kicks Moxley's chest. Moxkey fights back with knee strikes. Fantastico misses a moonsault on Moxley. B-Boy with a rear naked choke on Fantastico. Fantastico refuses to tap. Boy converts the choke to a sleeper. Moxley ducks Kingston's back-fist and inside cradles him for the win.

Drew Blood vs. Greg Excellent w/Kylie Pierce. Greg Excellent comes down the aisle with Rick Astley's "Never Going to Give You Up" as his theme. Excellent is overweight and certainly shouldn't be fighting for a junior heavyweight title. Could be a joke match. Excellent with a poor body-drop on Drew. Excellent Samoan drops him. Excellent misses a Suicida. His moves were sloppy. Drew connects with a spinning heel kick but botches a body-press off the top. Excellent Tiger-drives Drew through a frosted cake for the win.

Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano. G1 Special in San Francisco. Suzuki Irish whips Ishii to the turnbuckles and connects with a boot. Ishii knocks Suzuki down with a running shoulder-block. On the losing end of the brawl, Suzuki has to tag out.

Sabre with a single-leg grapevine on Yano and converts it into an Indian death-lock..Whenever Yano is in trouble, he's smart enough to get to the ropes. Suzuki with a rear naked choke on Ishi; Ishii counters with a snapmare. Sabre blocks Yano's low blow, grabs his wrist and turns it into a bridge pin. Yano tries a chop block on Sabre, who leg-scissors his wrist. Ishii runs in and lariats Sabre. Yano hooks Sabre's leg for the win.

Hangman Page and Mary Scurll vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kushida. G1 in San Francisco. Kushida cinches a wristlock on Scurll. Scurll uses his athleticism to maneuver out of it and counters with a hammerlock. Scurll misses a clothesline; Kushida with a waistlock and a full nelson. It's a technical match so far with Kushida having the upper-hand.

Hangman rushes towards Tanahashi, who stuns him with a reverse elbow. Tanahashi with a cross-body off the second turnbuckle. Hangman with a shooting star press from the edge of the ring apron on Kushida, who's out of the ring. Tanahashi with a dragon screw leg-whip on Scurll. Tanahashi scoop slams Scurll and follows it up with a Senton. Page with a stiff forrarm. Kushida fights back with a bicycle kick. Page drops Kushida on his head with his finisher The Rite of Passage for the win.

Yota Tsuji vs. Konosuke Takeshita. G1 Climax 34, B Block. Takeshita's not an NJPW guy but signed to AEW. It begins as a feeling out process. Tsuji with a side headlock. Takeshita with a full nelson. Tsuji counters with a hammerlock. Konosuke reverses Tsuji's Irish whip attempts and tries a short clothesline. Tsuji ducks and schoolboys him. Takashita connects with a flying clothesline. The outsider is matching the NJPW veteran move-for-move.

Tsuji tries a vertical, but Takeshita fights it off. After much back-and-forth struggling, Takeshita gets the vertical suplex. Tsuji rushes in for a spear; Takeshita dodges and pushes him against the turnbuckle pads. Tsuji with an armdrag and a headscissors. Tsuji rushes in with a running tackle, only to be hit with a knee from Takeshita. Takeshita pulls out the surprise win shortly after executing a Blue Thunder Bomb.

NJPW could be building up an inter-promotional feud between Takeshita and Tsuji.

Ricky Steamboat vs. Steven Regal w/Sir William. WCW Main Event. Regal with a wristlock. Steamboat counters with his own wristlock. Regal with a hip-toss but Steamboat didn't fall on his back properly. Regal with a single-leg and a brief ankle lock. He goes back to a wristlock. Stramboat with a side headlock takedown. Regal with successive European uppercuts and wears him down with a three-quarter Nelson. He's using these wear-down holds not to win but to get to the ten-minute draw. Steamboat with a backslide but it's too little, too late. The time limit has expired.

Marcus Bagwell vs. Steven Regal w/Sir William. Clash of Champions. Regal with a single-leg taledown. Regal puts him in a wristlock. Bagwell counters with his own wristlock. Regal with a go-behind hammerlock. Regal with a snapmare and a brief rear chinlock. Regal has a slight edge but Bagwell is holding his own. Regal grabs Bagwell's wrist and takes him down with a drop toehold. Bagwell reverses it with a hammerlock. Regal with an ankle-lock. Bagwell with an Enziguiri. Bagwell's rally is short-lived, though, as Regal goes back to the ankle-lock.

It's a botched finish as Bagwell tries a roll-up but Regal reverses it, Bagwell pulls the back of Regal's tights. Regal sits atop Bagwell and grabs Bagwell's tights for leverage. The ref makes a quick three-count. Bagwell complains but he grabbed Regal's tights first.

Chris Benoit vs. Steven Regal. Monday Nitro. Regal starts with a Grecco-Roman knuckle-lock and nails Benoit with successive headbutts to his head. But it only gets Benoit riled up as he forces Regal down to the mat. Regal with a three-quarter Nelson. Commentator Steve McMichael mistakenly refers to the move as a rear chinlock. Benoit with a German suplex, but Regal is back in control shortly thereafter. Regal with a side headlock, then a front facelock and a double under-hook suplex. What a successive chain of moves!

Benoit with a tombstone. Benoit attempts a flying cross-body over the top rope, but Regal moves out of the way and Benoit crashes on the ringside floor. Regal tosses Benoit back in the ring and pins him for the win. After the match, Benoit's fellow Horseman Brian Pillman berates him for losing.

(c) Bob Backlund w/Arnie Skaaland vs. The Samoan #2 (Sika) w/Lou Albano. Backlund with a couple of armdrags and a single-leg. Backlund ducks Sika's double karate chop and counters with a dropkick. Sika with a standing headbutt but his offense is short-lived, though, as Backlund uses his amateur wrestling holds to keep him on the mat. Backlund with a wristlock and, then, legdrops Sika's arm. Backlund with an armbar. He has it cinched in for a few minutes.

Sika wears Backlund down with a clawhold to his abs. Backlund tries a standing headbutt on Sika's hard head but Backlund gets the worst of it. Sika with a Samoan drop. He connects with a flying headbutt. After one successful aerial move, he's going to try another aerial move. Backlund has it scouted. As Sika is on the top turnbuckle, Backlund picks him up for a press slam. Backlund covers him for the win.

Not a bad old school match. Lot of wear-down holds.

Regal targets Steamboat's injured ribs. Steamboat responds with a side crescent kick to Regal's chest.

Steamboat plays possum. Regal takes the bait and Steamboat judo throws him! Steamboat connects with a cross-body. Steamboat wears Regal down with a short-arm scissors. Regal with a single-leg and a knee-dtop. Regal lifts him up for a Razor's Edge. Steamboat slips out, Regal tries a double under-hook but Steamboat resists. Steamboat connects with a flying body-press but he's touching his injured ribs. As Steamboat is skinning-the-cat; William cracks him on his head with an umbrella. Regal German suplexes him to become the new champ.
