Last Wrestling Match Watched 2.0

This match started off a big slow. The problem is they hit some of their a big moves too early. And there are some sloppy moments, at times it felt like they were holding back too, maybe for the big Superbrawl PPV. But from the middle of the match onwards they worked a very solid match. Didn't like the reverse call at the end but I guess it did a good job in selling Sting's new found aggression going into the strap match with Vader. JR does a great job on communtary. ***

Two legends at their very best. Its a great brawl with awesome crowd heat and effective support from the outside. Some great wrestling involved too. Actually think Windham was just as good as a face than heel. Of course would have been even better if it was longer, but it was to tease the fans. ***1/2

Bit of a nothing match and more to build on the Hogan-Boss Man feud. But Macho still got maybe Akeem's best ever singles match out of him. **

 

[Keith]

Lame television style rushed match. And sticking Steiner in Sid's corner was just so random and added nothing. The ending was a complete mess. *1/2

Enjoyable match for its limitations. It was a good example of how to do an effective big guy vs. small guy match. Just a shame Windham didn't win the NWA title as planned in 91. **1/2

Sloppy and short TV match. Think you can see here that Virgil hadn't yet received any proper training. But I do like the story to the match, the pre-match interviews, and Teddy in the green suit **

This maybe Tom Zenk's greatest ever match. The fake injury spot by Arn at five minutes was a thing of beauty ***1/2

One of the most useless debuts in history. And the play-by-play guys make it even worse with their naff comments. *1/2

Val Venis (c) vs. Edge for the WWE European Championship - RAW IS WAR 1/10/00:

A good, quick, fast paced match that was even on both sides in terms of offense and defense. It had some good beef with the time, and it was an entertaining match.

Big Show & The Rock vs. Triple H & X-Pac - SmackDown! 1/13/00:

Another good main event. I enjoyed the storyline overall, and the build up through out the night with the promos from both men until the co-promo segment that basically gave it away that Big Show would turn on The Rock. I enjoyed it, and it was good build for WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble.

Solid tag match. A nice story told, with some good back and fourth and some fun contrast in styles. Like the Freebirds using heel tactics even as faces, and Medusa shows why she is THE REAL FIRST LADY OF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!! ***

Solid match. It was a little on the rushed side, but they still told a sound story with Taylor playing the face and playing a logical underdog. Like how Rude's finisher came out of nowhere to show his threat, and how he is able to suddenly pull something out of the bag. **1/2

Bit of a mixed bag of a match. Its heated and I enjoyed the interfearance from the two ladies outside, but I felt the wrestling itself was a bit tame. **1/2

Really sound technical, with some well timed near falls, and solid brawling. The middle is a bit sluggish, you can tell that Wonderful is struggling during this time. This was one of his better later feuds. The ending was pretty heated. ***
