You don't understand either, do you?

The point that I was trying to make was that Rocky Maivia went over like a fart in church because he was TERRIBLE. You don't remember the Kayfabe days do you? When they wouldn't turn guys based on a one or two week reaction. They tried to get him over as a "Blue Chipper" for months and it failed. Kofi's heading down the same path unless he develops a personality with some depth

Rocky Maivia was a backstage push that got him 'ROCKY SUCKS'...Kofi isn't anywhere near to the level Rocky Miavia was when crowds turned on him. I don't remember the kayfabe days? I was watching this before you knew how to write. You don't remember how booking pushes a guy to the top no matter what ala HHH. Kofi Kingston is getting a mere midcard push and he's not really standing out all too much on Raw. Rocky Miavia was pushed as a face IC champion with family heritage and fans chanted "ROCKY SUCKS" like he was one of the top heels in the industry. The fans made that guy. The put him on the map by going against him so hard. They're hatred of Maivia's push created his whole heel set up. No ONE knew how great he was on the mic until they allowed him to speak after the heel turn and from there, he started stealing the show in the upper midcard until he won the belt just over a year later. Kofi Kingston? He's barely allowed in tag team matches with John Cena and Shawn Michaels.

And Kofi is moderately over...if fans won't turn on Evan Bourne or Mysterio, they won't be turning on Kofi. His little spot style appeals to those kids that get behind him in matches. I mean..the guy is more over than the overpushed John Morrison but I don't see any threads spitting on how Morrison is less over than Miz on a weekly basis.

You made a very good example with Rey Mysterio. His character is so overplayed and boring now, I really don't know why the fans haven't completely turned on him yet. (except for MSG) Mysterio is worse than Kofi too, because even though he can get it done in the ring, all of his storylines are mostly the same.

as for Kofi, if he doesn't start getting booed or get more cheers as he moves up the card, the fans will just not care about him. It's better to get heat as a face than get no reaction at all, IMO.

Rey Mysterio is one of the greatest all time workers in wrestling history. These little things you see IWC fans marking for when it comes to Evan Bourne, Jack Evans, and Tyler Black? They look so minor league compared to Mysterio in 1996-2001. Double springboard spots from two rings? Unheard of. Not even the elite of Japan and Dragongate could peel if off so effortlessly.

Mysterio is a guy who can only play face, so that anger some of his haters who don't like him getting pushed. They forget he's one of the biggest draws in pro wrestling as well. Her merchandise sales are huge..those Mysterio masks all those kids wear everyweek? They cost $50 a pop. Orton can field goal punt heads every single week but he'll NEVER as profitable as Mysterio is now. As for Kofi Kingston? I hear Kofi chants every week...not as loud as the CM Punk chants but that goes without saying. They don't allow Kingston to succeed. You see Morrison/Miz/Finlay on all the shows getting tons of screentime but Kofi has no feuds, no storylines, gets no mic time, and we have no idea where his character is headed in 2009. He's got a Rumble spot but he's probably gonna get tossed out by Umaga or Kozlov when the enter the fray.

The fans wont turn on Rey Mysterio because he is really likeble. Rey Mysterio could never be a heel because he just projects "nice guy"

I seriously don't get the big deal about Kofi Kingston in the first place. He came in, did some flashy moves and won. He's just another one of those FLIPZ wrestlers as far as I'm concerned. Kinda like Ron Killings but with a better base. He has done a couple of big things, I will give you that, like he beat Chris Jericho. Chris freaking Jericho for the Intercontinental title, and teamed with CM Punk to win the tag titles from Priceless. But he hasn't got what I'm looking for to make it as a main eventer. He's just another one of those guys who is flashy but won't be above an Intercontinental Title level.

The way you see Kingston is how I see this John Morrison project. A guy pushed on all 3 shows who isn't even really marginally over. Not sure if they like the way he looks or what the deal is but I've had enough of Morrison for the rest of the year.

And the WWE can make anyone into a star...Orton is proof of that. Kozlov is still being protected despite having one of the worst matches since Goldberg/Lesnar. It's all in the booking.

How do you make some a good wrestler in the eyes of the IWC? Turn him heel and let him do flippys.

He becomes a great wrestler overnight.

As far as Kofi goes, I think the guy has good potential. He's just still new to fans. It'll take a while for him to fully flesh out a character for himself, at which point we'll see how good he really is.

But, to insinuate that turning him heel will make him great, like what the Rock did, is incredibly funny.
