- The TNA Mobile service sent out a text message last night saying Shane Sewell has been released from his contract with TNA Wrestling. His profile was recently removed the roster section on the company website. Although, they have yet to remove his name from the TNA referees list.

- As reported earlier, SoCal Val was recently assigned the role of backstage announcer for TNA Wrestling. The TNA Knockout will be hosting a special Sacrifice pre-show on the company website on Sunday night as she asks the TNA stars the tough questions just moments before they battle.

- Last week’s episode of TNA iMPACT drew a 1.23 cable rating with 1.6 million viewers. The show did a 0.91 in Males 18-34 and 0.99 in Males 35-49.

In the segment-by-segment numbers, the Daniels vs. Chris Sabin match with backstage Mick Foley segments gained 195,000 viewers. Samoa Joe’s match with Eric Young gained 91,000 viewers. Mike Tenay’s sitdown interview with Sting and Daffney attacking Taylor Wilde at a restaurant lost 52,000 viewers. The winner of the night was the Cute Kip vs. Awesome Kong stretcher match as it gained 234,000 viewers, drawing an impressive 1.37 quarter. This was TNA’s best quarter hour number in several weeks. Viewers tuned out for The British Invasion vs. Amazing Red and Suicide match as it lost 104,000 viewers. The Kevin Nash vs. Team No Limit two-on-one match gained 26,000 viewers. The Booker T vs. Jethro Holliday “I Quit” match and the final segment showing the scandalous mystery DVD Mick Foley had been hyping the entire show was a dud as it lost 13,000 viewers, finishing with a 1.30 quarter.

Why the fuck would they bother texting their fans about a release?

Waste of time and resources.... Not to mention indicative of a lack of proper news? (On TNAs part, not the report that's been quoted).

I haven't a clue what you mean, but to me clarify what I meant... The resources it took to organize and initiate the mass-text.

Also, if I'd subscribed to a news service I'd want news and teases about what's happening and going to happen, not of what I'm NOT going to see.

What was WWE doing when they let Kip go? He could bring them back to Attitude Era style ratings. :shifty:

Maybe Lance Storm was right when he talked about Kong being the only ace up TNA's sleeve. She is legit as fuck in the fans eyes in respect to being equal to the males. If TNA wanted to garner the attention that it so desperately seeks, maybe it's time to push Kong to the fuckin moon and have her take on a "legend" at a PPV since she draws in a larger audience than Foley, Nash and Sting combined. It has nothing to do with Billy Gunn, it could have been fuckin Sharkboy in that segment and it would have drawn. Kong is one of the few brightspots in the dark abyss that is TNA.
