Already a thread on this in the MMA section since he also signed with Bellator, an MMA company owned by SpikeTV which airs Impact, but I think that it deserves a thread in each section to talk about each side of the deal.

King Mo is a professional MMA fighter but before that he was a decorated amateur wrestler, trained at OVW and is a massive wrestling fan. His contract is with both Bellator and TNA so it will be interesting in how his time is divided between both companies.

Who do you think he will feud with first in TNA? Also does this then open the door for Kurt Angle to fight for Bellator whilst working for TNA?

An MMA news show had Dixie Carter on it last night, and she actually brought up Kurt Angle as a potential opponent for Mo in TNA. King Mo said he'd love a wrestling match with either him or Roode.

Said he's going into training this week and by the end of 2012 he'll officially join the company, but won't be doing Bellator until 2013.

As for Kurt getting into MMA, there's no way it's going to happen. He's too old and would be way to injury prone to get into it.

It would probably take King Mo a few years to adjust to wrestling just to put on a decent match so I have no interest in this at all.

Atleast he already has his plan for life after MMA.

Good for him, time will tell if he will be successful at it.

Well it mentioned him training in OVW a bit, so he does have SOME experience.

Still going to be green, only person I know f who was an absolute natural at pro-wrestling was Angle. No one will be that special again.

I'm not saying he'll be anything like Angle, but I wouldn't completely count Mo out before his debut.

Just wondering if TNA will actually do right by him and get him experience before building him or if they just hotshot him to mainevent status.

Years of TNA makes me think it will be the latter.

Personally, I think King Mo might actually do pretty well in TNA.

The reason being not because of his physical talent (which he has a great deal of by the way). But because of his character. If anyone has seen King Mo back in Strikeforce, you'd know he's very outspoken and fairly flamboyant in how he goes about his business and how he talks.

It would be fairly easy to give him a character in TNA

Yeah, he's a great talker and that's the major thing he needs to get over.

You can be the sloppiest green ass guy on the roster but if you have charisma and can talk the knickers off a nun, you will be a star.

Haven't seen the VP for him yet so dunno what dumbass gimmick they've saddled him with though.

What you just brought to light right there is the single GREATEST problem wrestling has today. In order to be "great" you have to be a mouth piece or marketable rather than a skilled wrestler. Wrestlers like Benoit, the old Hart Foundation, Kurt Angle, Dean Malenko, Ric Flair, etc are a dieing breed.

And it's painfully apparent in the new "talent" that are in the business right now.

You wouldn't group Daniel Bryan and CM Punk in that list with Benoit and others? They all had the same passion for this business and incredible skills. You can't get much better than that. And by the looks of it we can still churn out wrestlers like that so I'm not worried.

As far as King Mo, though... Well they showed his boring interview from MMA Uncensored last week with Dixie Carter and whoever the host is for that show. It was atrocious to say the least.

I don't think it's that much of a problem, guys know the score.

It encourages ppl to develop a personality rather than rely on 'technical skills' to get over. I wouldn't wanna see a bunch of Brian Danielson's on the roster as that would be a travesty, kinda like the territories era where bland as fuck wrestlers would get mega pushes. Ie; Nick Bockwinkel, Sammartino, etc.

That's true, but the wrestlers need a fair share of both.

You need the technical skills for credibility. And you need the character for the showmanship. The problem with so many wrestlers today is they less tech and more show. In recent years, most of the biggest names in the business had little to no wrestling skill, but they had plenty of showmanship. Case in point, John Cena is a perfect example of this.
