King Mo Fired From Strikeforce

Dana White confirmed this news to mmajunkie.com today but did not give specifics as to the cause for Lawal's release.

Muhammed has certainly had an awfully bad run of things lately considering his positive test after his fight with Lorenz Larkin, had microfracture surgery and suffered multiple flushings and operations after that due to an infection and just today was fined $39,000 along with a 9 month suspension from the aforementioned positive test.

After Lawal's hearing today he had this to say about NSAC commisioner Pat Lundvall:

I honestly feel like Lundvall was a racist bitch asking me if I can read or speak english, Go on somewhere with that shit!!!

"This to me is a pretty clear case of "it is not what you say but how you say it". If Mo had a problem with what was said to him ( I don't blame him for feeling offended) he really should have just talked about it rationally, without name calling and swearing. Just posing an open ended question about it to a few media outlets or on Twitter would have accomplished a much more positive result (pun not intended). Lashing out in this juvenile manner may have cost him his job and I can't say I blame Zuffa for giving him the boot."

I know there was another thread about him getting suspended, but this is HUGE news so i thought it deserved an entirely new thread.

Had a feeling Dana wasn't going to let his rant of the commissioner go, just wasn't expecting him to get fired. DAMN. I get it though, Calling a reporter a racist bitch is one thing, calling a member of an athletic state commission a racist bitch is another thing.

You would think that with all of the shit that he's been through with the Staph infection and the failed drug test, and being fined $39K he'd be much smarter about his career. Every day more and more i see the resemblance to Rampage in the sense that the two are complete morons, this just proves it even more so.

 Wouldn't surprise me to see them fight in Bellator or some shit. Or they can join Anthony Johnson in Titan Fighting Championship.

Good lord seemed like just yesterday King Mo was being hyped up as a big name to be reckon with in MMA and then just like that shit starts falling apart for him.

I'll bet money on Rampage/Fedor fighting at some point and time in Japan or something. As for Mo, i think he'll end up back with Strikeforce at some point and time, but this hurts any chance of him getting into the UFC.

I do think that Page/MO will fight at some point though for Bellator, Titan Fighting or Shark Fights. Unless King gets picked back up by Zuffa, which knowing Dana is likely to happen.

Mo spoke out on his Release here's the small interview

How he was informed he had been cut:

"Sean Shelby didn't contact me. He contacted my manager Mike Kogan to inform us that I had been cut."

General reaction to today's events, including being released:

"It is what it is. Of course, I want to fight for Strikeforce and fight for Zuffa, but if they want to cut me for what I said, then I can't take it back because it already happened. I have never been asked in such a condescending way if I could read or speak English like that. I did something wrong, so I can't really say I'm being treated unfairly. I don't know if it was excessive to cut me.

Right now, I just want people to understand that I went in there respectfully and that I'm not playing the race card. I'm too old to play the race card. I'm established on the West Coast now and since I've been out here, I haven't experienced much racism. I've experienced some stereotypes and small prejudices here and there, but other than that, no, I haven't experienced too much, compared to when I was in the South. The woman's comments reminded me of times when I experienced racial insensitivity from other people.

Zuffa made a decision just off what was said on Twitter. I don't know if they care about what happened. I'm pretty sure they didn't hear any of the audio. They just made a decision off what went down on Twitter. I'm pretty sure Keith Kizer and certain people at the commission are mad and I didn't mean any disrespect to Keith or the rest of the people in the commission. I just felt disrespected by that one person that asked if I could speak or read English.

To me, that was a blatant insult. Just listen to the audio. You'll see."

Pretty poor to ask the guy if he can read or if he can speak english. But what King Mo said on Twitter was out of line so I am not surprised that he was punished, although I didn't think that it would lead to him being fired. I am sure that he will eventually be back in a Zuffa company next year.

Not really relevant, but I found this vid of Rampage & King Mo trash talking each other in a minibus going to a autograph signing.

Pretty funny. Also, Bobby Lashley appearance.
