Kimbo Slice Fight rigged?

Ok, ok, I know I'm going to so get bashed for saying this. I really enjoy watching UFC, and other cage fighting leagues. Kimbo Slice of course, is a monster, a beast, a behemoth of a man. And when I watched the events occuring in the Shamarock vs. Kimbo pay per view, I freaked. Firstly, Ken gets cut during sparing. Damn, that sucks, now that he's not elligible to fight. Then, they bring in some no name, that steps up to sure suicide, if not capable of some fine fighting. So this no name steps up, and the match goes underway. I send a text message, and look up. Kimbo eats a jab straight to the head, and is down. Note that this all went down in less than twenty seconds. No name mounts Kimbo, and its over. Kimbo is so delirious that he starts actually hitting the referee. This looks, and feels so fake. I thought I was watching UFC, not TNA, or WWE. I know some one can take a jab the wrong way, but wow. For a man of that size, its appalling how this can happen to him. Now I don't want you to think I'm saying all of UFC is fake. Though this really makes me think. So my question is....


What are your thoughts?

UFC? It's not UFC; it's EliteXC. I think you're confusing UFC as MMA itself, which it's not. UFC is just a prmotion, much like WWE is to wrestling.

Now, I'm not sure of the specifics, but the fight seemed really strange. I was just... WTF happened? I heard the EliteXC guys offered Seth (the guy who took Kimbo down) some more money to keep the fight standing, and not use certain techniques against Kimbo. Maybe Kimbo isn't as good as people say he is. I'm not going to say anything, though, because it was just too... awkward. All this hype, and this happens. Really? Damn.

Kimbo doesnt know how to defend himself. Have you seen his only loss in the street fight? It was against someone who is just a jobber. That someone was just having fast hands. So it shows that Kimbo is not only he is a slow fighter, he is also dumb when it comes to "defend yourself before attacking".
MMA is not a fixed sports, Kimbo as all of us know, he likes to win. So he wouldnt like to lose on command. He lost fair and square as he can not fight in MMA.

Kimbo himself is a "no name" in the sport. Seth has a 10-4 MMA record, 9 of those wins by TKO/KO. Kimbo has only had as many fights as Seth has lost (he's 3-1).

The fight wasn't rigged, Kimbo got caught, hopefully now he'll realize that he has to train much harder on his defense, as he really doesn't have any.

I didn't read all of the above posts. But it has already been let out by the fighter himself that beat Kimbo himself the fight was kinda rigged. What he said was that ELite XC came to him and told him to keep the fight standing. Not on the ground. Even though that's not major rigging it's still rigging at that.

Are you serious? If the fight was rigged then Kimbo would have won. Why the fuck would they let some kid beat Kimbo? The kid said that they told him not take Kimbo down and to brawl. So the kid did and Kimbo sucking as bad as he does lost because he sucks.

I smell a work here, I like to watch some UFC/Elite/IFL, but this might've just turned me away from it. Lately, business is kinda slowing down for MMA, and I think they wanted something to spice it up, and what better way than to bring in a no name and beat one of the most dominate fighters in the world? They did the same exact thing with Mike Tyson when he was at his peak, and that was pretty much career suicide...I don't think many people are going to take Kimbo very seriously again after this.

I didn't mean like quit watching MMA altogether, I just meant watching Elite XC. I'm still going to watch IFL and UFC and some others, but I'm done with XC...it just pissed me off.

MMA can be fixed but it isn't boxing where if you're knocked down that they won't stop hitting you. But Kimbo got cut and you can't "blade" in MMA. Lucky knockout and notice the "no name" hit him in the back of the head few times before the ref stopped it.

I don't believe MMA is rigged, atleast not this early anyway. The only reason that this fight was so quick and unpredictable was that both fighters didn't train for their opponent. They went in there blind not knowing what was going to or might happen.

^exactly... Kimbo and the other guy had NO clue what to expect, and the other guy just seemed to go in faster and stronger (no homo) and just drop his ass to the ground with some sick ass punches

Kimbo looked weak as fuck out there, but he didnt know what to expect either

If they told him to exchange standing is just for the fight to be more exciting as we all know that when it goes to ground, it loses pace and some of its exciting. THATS ALL.
