After 40+ years of helping to build WWE and, hands down, the best production and media unit in the entire sports and entertainment business, Kevin Dunn, will be leaving our company as of today.
Before WrestleMania 1, Kevin joined Vince at WWF. Many of us remember a pre-WrestleMania WWF – a regional wrestling company that looked like a regional wrestling company. Then we experienced WrestleMania 1, whether live, on closed circuit or years later elsewhere. It was magic. A regional wrestling company had become a global sports entertainment juggernaut. Vince led the way, side by side with Kevin Dunn. When many of us were kids standing in line waiting to play Pac-Man, Kevin was already on the road breaking his back to help build our company.
When you see our product now, there is nothing that comes close to its look or feel – 52 weeks a year, three to four times a week. It is singular and truly special. No other company can or will do that, and that is because of Kevin and our media team’s hard work, smarts and determination.
We are forever grateful to Kevin. He will always be a part of the WWE family.

I kind of did. It was widely known that Triple H (and Stephanie) didn’t get along with Dunn so when the reports came out that TKO had more or less devalued Vince’s position within the company, his time was on the clock.

I do love that we're surprised someone who held his job for literally 40 years is retiring. I mean that's what people do after 40+ years.

Dude has earned his retirement. Whether you like what he's done recently or not, he's been fucking massive for the company and will be missed.

Don't know what (if anything) will change but congrats on an awesome career and thanks for all the memories. Enjoy retirement.

During the talent meeting prior to Raw, WWE President Nick Khan praised the retiring Kevin Dunn and commented that Dunn led with "strength" and that the company will "lead with strength" going forward. Dunn was very much praised upon his exit and was treated in reverence as someone who, alongside Vince McMahon, built WWE up for everyone to be part of today.

One name that has been mentioned a lot internally as filling Dunn's role is Chris Kaiser, WWE's Executive Vice President of Television, PWInsider.com has been told. Kaiser has been a big figure behind the scenes in the company for close to a decade and would be heavily involved in a lot of the management and overseeing of the TV production side of the company. One person described it as Dunn having the "rubber stamp" officially on decisions but that Kaiser had been the one truly in the trenches in recent years.​
