This guy had a lot of potential to be one of the biggest stars ever. Two things really messed him up. His brother's death in Japan and his accident. I remember watching him and HBK wrestle on the Monday Night show before it became RAW, and seeing him beat jobbers here and there on Superstars. I think the last match I saw of him was when he was squashed by The Undertaker on Superstars. If I remember correctly, someone else (Not Warrior because he had been fired at this point) was supposed to get squashed instead but refused and quit. Kerry took the spot because he knew business and that WWF was getting The Undertaker ready to win The Big One. Even though he had his demons, the man knew the business and how to do business, leaving his ego at the door.

Would have rather seen him go to WCW instead of the WWF, because I felt he could have been better received since he was more known in the Southern States. Remember this hadn't been long since the territories were a thing.

The fact he could still wrestle after the accident shows how incredible he was as an athlete, and also I would think that would be painful as hell.

Oh absolutely. The man was tough as nails. From the shoot interviews from his peers, it is said he ws also very insecure about the prosthetic foot. They even said he would wer his boots when at the swimming pool. The injury played a huge role in his pain killer addiction too. I remember reading about his death in a pro wrestling magazine (I wanna say it was PWI) back into the 90s, and it shocked me. I was maybe 8 or 9, and hadn't heard anything on television about the death. I'm not saying it wasn't mentioned by either WWF, GWF, or WCW, I just didn't catch it if it had been. Family was doing a lot of moving around back in those days.

That Harley race knee drop was something else. I wish more footage of him in the 70s existed
