Second half was just as good. Arena Mexico has a special atmosphere and was my favourite crowd for AEW this year. When we have Forbidden Door, I'll make sure that I'm loud as hell for all match entrances. My Green Will Ospreay Football Style as just delivered the other day!

Me Muero is not Mistico's normal entrance music. It was a #1 hit in Mexico when Mistico was at his peak (and so they built the music video around him.) It is forever linked to that moment. CMLL stopped using it long ago, doesn't use licensed music any more in general.

CMLL brought it back as part of Mistico's 20th Anniversary celebration and it was a big deal. And then it went back on the shelf.

AEW figured it out. Or maybe they just knew. They paid whatever they had to pay (no idea) and got the right song, and made a special moment happen.

Wednesday night’s special Grand Slam Mexico episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 736,000 viewers on TBS, up 23.3 percent from last week. This is the best audience total for the show since July 24 of last year.

Dynamite drew a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo. That’s up 23.5 percent from last week and is the highest rating the show has done in that category since November 13, 2024.

There was no major sports competition on the night with the Stanley Cup final having concluded and the NBA Finals not having a Wednesday game.

As compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s overall viewership was up 46.6 percent while its 18-49 rating was up 31.3 percent. Last year’s show fell on the Juneteenth holiday and was a record low for Dynamite that still stands. This year’s numbers do not include Max viewership, so the year-over-year increases are even higher than they appear.

This was AEW’s Mexico debut with Dynamite being held at the historic Arena Mexico.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of viewership totals and 18-49 demo ratings for Dynamite, along with the 10-week average in both categories. This week’s show was up 18.6 percent in overall viewers and 31.3 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
