Episode One

The first episode of NJPW World - would also be the beginning of the promotion tour of America with the commentary trio of Nigel McGuinness, Kevin Kelly and Mauro Ranallo welcoming the fans to San Diego in what was set to be a memorable night for the promotion. The comms team would talk about the planned matches, as well as revealing that Chris Dickenson had also been booked to face local talent Jordan Cruz - who in the last year had been working in indie promotions Level Up Showcase, Millennium Pro Wrestling and Championship Wrestling From Hollywood to name just a few.

In a backstage corridor, the Guerrillas of Destiny would end up bumping into EVIL with the three men being no strangers to each other. Tama Longa would be incredibly confrontational and demand to know if EVIL stood with them. EVIL would laugh in Tama and Tanga’s face and make it clear that he knew where his loyalties were and that he was a Jay White guy and there was nothing that the Guerrillas could say to convince him otherwise.

Tanga Loa would cut in and inform EVIL, that Jay White had made it clear on ROH that he considered EVIL was washed - and that if EVIL had any sense he would fall in line and stand with him, his brother and Jado or he would face the consequences that came with being left in the cold. EVIL though would be visibly annoyed, and would tell the brother to fuck off and that he was certainly not washed because he was the ‘King of Darkness’.

Dijak vs. Brody King (c)

Finish: Dijak would be accompanied to the ring by Ali, who would end up wishing Dijak lack before returning to the back after the entrance. The match would end up being an interesting contest, with Dijak offering King a substantial challenge for God’s Hate. Brody though would claim the victory when he would lay out Dijak with Gonzo Bomb before folding his foe over to claim the pin-fall victory. After the match, Brody would pose with the title and look very pleased with himself.

The Young Bucks would cut a backstage promo, in which they would make a mockery of DIY and make the point to call them sore losers and would remind them that they would always have more friends in this business than peasants like DIY would ever have and that this wasn’t NXT where they could stand and hide behind Papa Haitch who would offer them shelter and protect their careers at every twist and turn. Nick would make it clear that he had asked for the match this evening, because he has grown bored of Gargano’s bitching and complaining and that if Johnny was able to beat him fair and square tonight, then the Bucks would consider giving DIY a rematch for the IWGP Tag Team Championships.

A recap would highlight the action that took place in Yokohama last week during WrestleKingdom’s Night Three in which Bea Priestley had won the Joshi Warfare Match, that had seen Mickie James suffer a loss as she had been brutally assaulted by SLK and hadn’t got any backup from the rest of The Clinic. Unseen footage from later that night, would show a beaten up and injured Mickie would attempt to enter The Clinic’s locker room only to find it locked, as she would knock on the door trying to gain entry only to be left out in cold and having to limp to the general shared women’s locker room.

Bullet Club Graveyard (EVIL, Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo) vs. CHAOS (Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero & Orange Cassidy)

Finish: Throughout the contest, Nigel McGuiness would remind the audience that Gedo was nowhere to be seen in regards to the Bullet Club in any form and that Jay White had made it clear in recent ROH programming exactly what he thought about EVIL. The Guerrillas of Destiny would be sitting in the front row with Jado, with the trio watching on intently throughout the contest.

The Bullet Club Graveyard would struggle throughout the contest, with Ishimori and ELP doing all they could to break the rules and cheat at every opportunity and their attempts actually backfiring against them, that would lead to both men getting eliminated following simple mistakes. The final two would see Orange Cassidy and EVIL battling each other, with G.O.D. jumping the barricade and distracting EVIL that would open his flank as Cassidy would nail him with the Orange Punch to claim the victory for CHAOS.

Utami Hayashishita would cut a promo, where she would hold nothing back in regards The Clinic ahead of the tag team match with Mickie and Serena later on in the evening and would make it clear that when all was said and done it would be Queen’s Quest who would claim the victory.

Hayashishita would find herself unexpectedly interrupted by Io Shirai, the newly appointed leader of Queen’s Quest and the woman who had beaten Utami at WrestleKingdom to win the World of Stardom Championship. Io with the belt around her shoulders, would demand that Utami kneel in front of her and kiss her ring and acknowledge her as the new boss of the unit. Hayashishita would be visibly upset by the interaction, but would lower down and kiss the ring in an act of complete submission before being ushered away as Io would take over the promo.

Io would bad mouth Britt Baker and make it clear that her clique The Clinic were nothing but peasants and if they had any sense they would bow down to her greatness and that tonight Queen’s Quest would put the three harlots in check this evening. Taya would interject and make it clear that Mickie James was The Clinic’s weakest link, which was obviously considered the manner in which she had been brutally beaten up by someone as basis as Starlight Kid last week and that she was relishing the prospecting of throwing The Clinic in the trash for good.

Kevin Kelly would inform fans that Cena would be present at the Chase Center next week where he would address his debut loss as well as talking about upcoming plans in New Japan.

Dante Martin vs. Kota Ibushi

Finish: The contest would be fairly short with Dante being given a really chance to shine, in what almost felt like an interview for the Heavyweight Division with Martin impressing at times only for Ibushi to turn up the heat and swiftly crushing his opponent when he would nail him with the Golden Star Powerbomb to end the contest.

Okada would make his way to the ring in a lavish and over the top ring entrance with it being one of those entrances that anyone in attendance wasn’t going to forget anytime soon. When Okada reached the ring he would cut a promo where he would talk about how glad he had been to be part of such a great battle at WrestleKingdom and that he had a lot of respect for Brock after what had been one of his most challenging opponents in recent years. Kazuchika would make it clear that he intended to continue to make NJPW proud and would continue to earn the best title in the business the prestige that it deserved. He would make it clear that he didn’t know who was next in line for him, but he was ready for any challenge that presented itself. Okada would continue to celebrate with the fans, before asking one last time ‘WHO IS NEXT?’ as suddenly all the light in the arena would go out.

When the lights turned back on Malakai Black would be standing in the middle of the ring and with no hesitation would wipe out Okada with the BLACKOUT Kick, before grabbing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and looked almost in a trance as he would directly at the title. As CHAOS would emerge from the back in full force, Malakai would exit the ring with the championship still in land and leap the barrier and disappear into the crowd before CHAOS even arrived by Kazuchika’s side.

All four members of La Faccion Ingobernables would be present in a fancy mansion in Mexico, with the quartered all sitting in a hot tub whilst sipping on glasses of champagne. Andrade, Rush and Naito would talk highly of themselves having won the Never Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships at WrestleKingdom and that now it was the time to relax and be tranquillo and go on to make a mockery of the manner in which CHAOS had won earlier that evening, and that Orange Cassidy and co. were going to have to work a lot harder if they thought they were ever going to earn a shot at their old titles. Andrade would proceed to poke fun at Hiromu for losing the Jr. Heavyweight Title to Vikingo, and Rush for failing to reclaim the ROH World Title against Bandido before Tetsuya Naito would go on to congratulate Dragon Lee and Dralistico for winning the AAA World Tag Team Championships and would tell LFIA to keep up the good work as members of their extended Faccion. The quartet would then all clink their glasses, before swathes of sexy women would enter the room and slide into the hot tub next to LFI.

Candice LeRae (c) vs. Masha Slamovich

Finish: Candice would claim the victory in a fairly quick manner, as she would use her experience and speed in an impressive manner, although it would be clear that Masha was massively annoyed at the loss. To the point that Masha would be unable to handle her rage and release some frustration by attempting to attack Masha, only for Willow to emerge from the back and chase Slamovich off with clear intent of claiming her own vengeance.

A hype package would confirm the signing of Donna del Mondo - and that the trio would be coming to NJPW very soon.

Mickie James would finally be able to confront her Clinic stablemates, and demand to know why they hadn’t had her back last week. Britt would end up telling Mickie to shut the fuck up and make it clear that Mickie might have been a big deal once upon a time, but the Joshi Warfare had been a test and she had done nothing but disappoint her and that tonight she was really expecting her to step up and prove that she on the same level that herself and Deeb were currently on.

Britt would make it clear that Mickie hadn’t deserved their help, and that when she had challenged for the World of Stardom Championship but no one had come out to help her and she hadn’t spent the entire week crying about. Britt would make it clear that Mickie better be part of a winning team with Serena tonight, otherwise there would be consequences.

YOH and Misterioso would feature in a promo backstage, where YOH would proceed to introduce Misterioso as his personal enforcer and make it clear how frustrated he had been to not have had his contract renewed by New Japan, at the start of the year and was even more disappointed that none of his fellow CHAOS members had reached out to him and had his back. YOH would announce that at the upcoming NWA PPV (Great American Bash) he had spoken to Chris Van Vliet and that he would be challenging Rocky Romero for the NWA World Television Championship and would make it clear that if his former mentor had any balls he would face him and Misterioso in a tag team match at some point prior to the event in March.

Mustafa Ali vs. Blake Christian

Finish: The encounter between both men would be a fast paced sprint with both men showing their potential and why they were both suited for the Jr. Heavyweight Division, with Ali picking up the win when he would nail Blake with the 054 (Imploding 450° splash).

Johnny Gargano would cut a promo ahead of his match with Nick Jackson in the show’s main-event. He would make the point that the Young Bucks may have cheated in order to retain their belts, but like all rule breakers karma had a funny way of catching up with them. Gargano would make it clear that he was very much looking forward to getting his hands on Nick and that Ciampa hadn’t been medically cleared so wasn’t here tonight, but that he would need help from his friends to kick Nick Jackson’s ass.

Jordan Cruz vs. Chris Dickinson

Finish: Local talent Jordan Cruz would prove to be not match for the ‘Dirty Daddy’ who would squash Cruz after nailing him with the Pazuzu Bomb (Running Crucifix Powerbomb) that he would throw with extra force directly into the turnbuckle with the referee deeming Cruz to have been knocked out from the impact.

MJF would make his way from the back and be met with a foul reception from the local fans. MJF would make it clear that he hadn’t been at all impressed when he had faced Tanahashi, and that if he was going to rate him he would judge him as being ‘very mid’ at best. MJF would proceed to sling insults in the direction of every unit on the roster, but would pay particular attention in firing shots at the Bullet Club Graveyard. MJF would reflect on his time at AEW, where had been part of the best faction in pro wrestling.

MJF would shift his focus to Ospreay and the United Empire would proceed to shit all over the faction and keep referring to Will as ‘Pip’ and say he was the King of a kingdom of crooked teeth sheep shagging inbreds and make it clear that he might not be a man of friends, but he was a man of capital and money meant he was able to buy the best and would introduce Steve Maclin as his new personal bodyguard before making it clear that he was just getting started.

Queen’s Quest (Utami Hayashishita & Taya Valkyrie) vs. The Clinic (Mickie James & Serena Deeb)

Finish: Britt would join the commentary table and would end up talking badly about Mickie throughout the contest, with it being evidently clear she wasn’t a big fan of her fellow stablemate. Io Shirai would come out to the ring with Queen’s Quest, with Io being carried out on a throne like an Arabian princess by a swathe of Young Boys - with it being clear that Britt wasn’t at all pleased of Io being presented.

The match would be a back and forth fair, with at no point would either team look worse then the other - but it would be the former champion Hayashishita who would claim the victory by nailing Mickie with the Towerhacker Bomb to pick up the victory. Io would make a hand gesture that would result in Taya and Utami stomping the crap out of Mickie in the middle of the ring. Britt and Deeb would exchange words at ringside, before shaking their heads and walking towards the back as James continued to have the crap beaten out of here.

EVIL would be interviewed backstage by Funaki, where he would make it clear that he was incredibly angry with everything that MJF had said and he wasn’t going to allow him to disrespect the legacy of the Bullet Club and that when he got his chance he was going to kick his ass. EVIL would find himself being interrupted by MJF who would have Steve Maclin by his side, and would openly laugh in EVIL’s face and make it clear that he didn’t deserve a match against him, but that instead he could face Maclin instead.

A number of matches would be announced for next week’s show in San Francisco with particular emphasis on Joe looking to get revenge on AOP for playing a part in his loss to JONAH, and if he couldn’t fight Ellering then it would be against one of his goons in the Authors of Pain.

Nick Jackson w/ Brandon Cutler vs. Johnny Gargano

Finish: The fans would be treated to a massively enjoyable main-event match that would feature Brandon Cutler doing his best to bend the rules and try to claim a cheap victory for Nick. Eventually Gargano would manage to dispatch Cutler by connecting with the Baby Ace Crusher (Running cutter to a kneeling opponent) whilst Cuter was on the ring apron that would remove him from the field.

Nick, no longer being able to one up Gargano, would end up waving towards the back for Matt to come down only to have a confused look on his face as he wouldn’t be joined by his brother. The viewers at home would be treated to a split screen with the fans in the arena witnessing on the titantron a scene backstage in which Ciampa had handed cuffed Matt Jackson to a steel fence and was beating the crap out of him. The beating would serve as a distraction that would allow Johnny to lock in the Gargano Escape with the fans not showing their joy at Gargano claiming the victory as the show would close.​

Im a fan of tag guys doing singles esp with proven guys like gargano n nick. Im building up to a big angle there so im glad u dig it.

Also looking forward to building up Malakai vs. OKADA which i thought will be a great match (rainmaker vs blackout, both super protected op finishes) n a very fresh out of the box feud
