I hate the phrase emo in all uses, not just music. The thing that people don't really understand is that when we say Bullet is Metalcore, it's not metal or hardcore, it's a blend taking sounds from both genres. It has created it's own unique sound.

At least you admit that some of this music is considered Emo. Nothing ticks me off more than an Emo band that is blatantly Emo but professes to be Punk, Rock or worse, Metal.

People just don't understand that Emo doesn't have to be a bad label, so long as you embrace it and stop trying to classify it as something it's not. That only pisses off the purists more.

Yea exactly I have no problem admiting some of the band I like are Emo, I mean watch the video for Black Veil Bride, there blatenly emo. I look at it this way, just because I listen to rap doesn't mean I roll around sippin on 40's and bustin caps in smurf's ass's so considering that aspect listening to bands that consider themselves emo doesn't mean I write poems and slit my wrist.

Exactly people don't realize how many sub genre's metal has now adays, theres a genre for every type of metal you can think of even folk metal and shit. I have no problem using emo now adays as the whole "Emos suck...blah blah blah" has faded out and bands have no problem considering themselves emo.

Emo is a horrible term which is just one huge generalisation. Rarely is it used in the correct context, if at all.

This thread needs some post-hardcore ie Silverstein and their live album. ;D

I love everything Silverstein do, but I think Vices, American Dream, Born Dead and I Am The Arsonist still sound like the sex live. Call It Karma is so amazing too.

I never liked live versions of songs, as the sound quality is always less clear and interrupted by the background sounds of the screaming fans. lol.
