It's a good move. He's not quite as sharp on the commentator's table as he was before and I think he still has something to give behind the scenes with his experience. Let him call a couple of big matches a year and do the sit-down interviews he's been doing well, and that will be good.

Agreed, he doesn't really annoy me like he does some others but he's definitely a step behind the action and quite frankly it's time to let Excalibur lead the ship, he's proven himself amply.

Yeah he's slipped a bit, maybe let him do some interviews, and some big time main events. Would be cool.

Yep. Pre-recorded, sitdown interviews are his bread and butter these days. Let him do that as well as the occasional match or two.

I'm still on the boat that they need to hire Tom Phillips or Mauro. If not for Dynamite, then for Rampage. I'd love a team of Phillips, Excalibur, and Schiavone for Dynamite and Mauro, Excalibur, and Taz for Rampage. Keep Paul Wight, Henry, and Jericho on Dark or something.

I don't have any problems with JR on commentary but he's obviously not going to be as sharp as the younger guys.

He still makes good calls and I loved some of his lines when Punk was debuting. I think he's good for big moments but others are better at play-by-play.

No shock to here I always thought this was the plan from jumpstreet was to pull back Ross and use him in certain situations. It's a win win for Ross while giving Excalibur the lead spot good for him.
