So for me if you want to bash Benoit online, go for it. Grace certainly knows how to get the wrestling world talking and that’s impressive. It’s been 15 years. Benoit is still as controversial as ever it seems.
To be fair, it is easy to "trigger" her, as the kids say, over nothing.

I don’t think she was the one triggered here, though.

Like I said before if you still want to like Benoit and can see past what he did, I’m on board with you, but if you’re anger tweeting Grace over these tweets, I’m gonna look at you funny.

I didn't mean she was the one triggered here, lol. My comment wasn't about that.

My comment was more towards how you said, "Grace certainly knows how to get the wrestling world talking and that’s impressive" and I was just saying that she is easy to trigger on almost anything, lol.

Pronouns, pal!

Yeah, that makes sense. The IWC is a fickle bitch.

IWC as a term needs to die, we all have the internet and all our opinions are different. there's no such thing as "the iwc's opinion of x"

I’ve long said this about people who try to demonize the term smark. We’re all on the internet, we all read rumors from the dirt sheets. We’re all smarks.

I do think there’s a difference between the IWC and fans who don’t talk wrestling on the internet. The IWC doesn’t have a singular opinion, no, but I do think there’s a difference between what forum users want to see from wrestling and those that only watch it once or twice a week and don’t think about it again until it’s back on if that makes sense.

but they talk about it with their friends...online. or they just dont talk about it at all, which means they dont really care enough to, and therefor, their opinion is pretty much irrelevant. there's some fans that are more hardcore than others, but the term is just dumb and antiquated. its mostly used as a negative term to dismiss online opinions people dont like. similar to using the word casual dismissingly.

and to be fair, not even everyone here reads all the rumors. for example, Looch barely does if at all, yet he's still a hardcore fan. its why i hate the term IWC, its always used to paint an opinion you dont like with broad strokes.

it also originates from a time where the internet community was much smaller on very small servers etc. with reddit, twitter , facebooks, etc, there's way too many ppl talking about wrestling to have any real universal opinions. Even motherfuckers gotta be hating on Eddie Kingston :pour the nerve

Fair enough if you don’t think their opinion is relevant, but I do think there a large chunk of the WWE bubble don’t talk about it online.

And even if it was 80% do talk about online, I still think that makes the general term usable, but I’d say it’s more 60-40.

As for rumors, I was saying that about the term Smarks, but I’d bet Looch opens threads on here that contains at least a few of those rumors.

I agree using iwc or smark as a negative is antiquated. Because like even I said, if you’re here reading this on this forum, you’re a smark of the iwc.

I wouldn't say its irrelevant but ppl that go to raw casually, for example, are going to go to Raw casually no matter what, you know? same with the old demo, they turn on their tv at x time to what the show out of habit. these ppl dont need to be catered to, and generally don't even have an opinion they put online or anywhere. they just show up for a good time (and thats fine, nothing wrong with being the circus). So as a fan myself of X product, I could not care less what someone who takes his family's to wwe once a year is, mostly because they simply don't have one (outside of more basic takes like "I like X he looks cool or I dont like X he looks like he sucks, of course) . Now that's not to say one should also give too much weight to the loudest most negative superfans either, as that can be extremely toxic, but listening to what your more passionate fanbase is saying about your product is a good way to create and retain long term watchers (which a lot of the people who go yearly with their kids were in whatever time they themselves were kids).

For example, I think WWE would be at least 1.5 to 2x more successful than they already are if they catered to their audience more, and AEW could do a better job at ignoring some of the criticism sometimes too.
