"There is a big part of me that says I only want to wrestle until I’m 40 and that’s only six years away at this point. So, I feel like I have about five years left to maximize whatever I want to do in this.” Gargano continued to say that it had been his dream to be WWE Champion and wrestle at WrestleMania. "There's also things that change those dreams like having a baby, wanting to be home more. There's a lot of things I'm juggling right now," he continued. "I'm just hoping that as this all plays out the right answer and right path will show itself to me."

Pro-wrestling superstar and former triple-crown NXT champion Johnny Gargano recently appeared on Insight With Chris Van Vilet to discuss a potential return to WWE in a producer role once his in-ring career comes to an end, but admits that he is still chasing that WrestleMania moment. Highlights from the interview are below.

Talks what he would want to do after his in-ring career comes to an end:

“It’s hard. Obviously the name Johnny Gargano in wrestling will always be beneficial money-wise. People will want to pay to see me wrestle, meet me, and learn from me. In reality, I have a job for life. I could go back to WWE and be a producer, be a coach or train people.”

Assumes that a producer position would be open to him in WWE if he wanted it:

“I hope so. I assume so. I have a great relationship with everyone there. But I have said that I want to wrestle until I’m 40, and that’s 6 years away. So I only have 5 years to maximize whatever I want to do in this.”

Whether he still wants that WrestleMania moment:

“Of course. I don’t know when or if that will come. I have said numerous times that I have a great relationship there, but what sacrifices am I going to have to make to make that happen? I would hate to be on the road and miss Quill’s first word or walking for the first time. Me and Candice only plan to have one kid, so we only have this one shot.”

Maybe he's said other things elsewhere but from these few pieces, to me it definitely seems like he wants the WWE but the schedule will be the thing that stops it from happening since he's nowhere near big enough to get a reduced schedule. Wouldn't be surprised if he did a 2 or 3 year deal with AEW / Indies then made contact with the WWE about having a final run there. That's alot of time between now and then so who knows what the fuck will actually happen

Gargano is in a good spot where he has options. Not all wrestlers have that. I would think he’ll take the year before making a decision though

One of the best wrestlers alive imo. He looks like a fucking geek which is why I think he’d never make it on the main roster in WWE. In NXT however he was a fucking legend. The amount of classics he put on in NXT is just insane. Multiple five star matches and many other greats.
