WWE.com announced that John Laurinaitis submitted his resignation for his position as Senior Vice President of Talent Operations, effective immediately. According to the article, Laurinaitis is "burned out," but will continue working with the company as a producer putting together matches.

We've been reporting that Laurinaitis' real-life power behind-the-scenes was weakening, and Triple H had his people running most aspects of WWE's talent relations department. According to The Wrestling Observer newsletter, Triple H has not been a big proponent of Laurinaitis, which led to his reduced role in the department.

This is somewhat surprising, Laurinaitis has had this role for like ages.

It's not at all surprising have you not been reading the reports that week after week he's had less duties and HHH is putting his people into place?

I thought this happened months ago?

For real, I'm pretty sure he's been regulated strictly to an on-air talent for quite some time now.

Didn't he have two positions?

I believe he was removed from one right before No Way Out and I'm guessing this is him leaving the other.

He isn't even an on air talent anymore. I think he's only used at house shows.

I think it was just reduced or something, but he was still technically the head of talent relations. There was definitely a report about him having less power a couple months ago, you're not crazy haha.

There was something on the WWE corporate website a few months back, in which he was no longer listed as EVP of Talent Relations and that was before the storyline with Cena was finished.

Doubtful, as I looked on wwe.com and I couldn't see anything on there so it was more likely to be the corporate site. Plus, they wouldn't put the part about 'putting together matches' in a kayfabe article.

It was time for a change especially since the WWE roster is probably the weakest it has been for a very long time. That isn't just his fault, creative takes some blame as well, but he is the one hiring these guys. HHH has made some interesting decisions already going after more indy wrestlers rather than big bodybuilders so it will be interesting to see what he does in the coming years. At least Johnny Ace managed to keep a job as a producer and wasn't completely fired.

I thought this happened like a month ago. Anyway... I don't care. Triple H and others are making good decisions in picking up some indy wrestlers not the typical "wwe material" bodybuilders.
