-- WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross published a new blog on jrsbarbq.com today discussing WWE news items, including last night's Raw and The Undertaker's future in WWE.
"We've getting several emails from people wondering if I think that Undertaker should retire. Short answer, hell no. If any one in the business should be able to dictate when they hang it up or not it's the Undertaker," Ross said. "Plus, and more importantly, he will know when it's time as Taker is not the kind of wrestler who will stay long after it's time to go as we have seen many others do."
Ross added the following line with a reference to older stars taking up TV time, which is exemplified by Hulk Hogan running through the roster in TNA: "The Deadman will never get to the point to where he never leaves his feet and people merely run into his fist. Ugh."
Ross, who says he narrowly escaped yesterday's tornadoes that hit Norman, Oklahoma, reviewed last night's Raw as having "plenty of sizzle" with a mix of "eclectic elements."

The best part of this was him indirectly taking a shot at Hogan:

Oh yeah that's right! Why in hell did I miss that?

I think that's also a plus side on HBK retirig. At least now they won't have a match like Hogan VS Shawn at Summerslam,

You never would see HBK act that way with Undertaker. Taker is a professional & doesn't mind putting people over, unlike Hogan. Hogan definitely deserved the match he got because he was incredibly unprofessional in wanting to be put over & not doing rematches like the original plans for the feud were.

Don't you mean "Taker doesn't care about being put over people, unlike Hogan." or "Taker cares about putting people over, unlike Hogan."? As you have it written, it's a contradiction.

The way I see it - Taker is already on a limited schedule, so the next step is retirement. If he wants to stick around for another couple years, fine. Give him someone you want to groom as the next big star and let him have a long running feud that culminates in a few great matches spaced out over the course of a year or so. Something similar to Taz calling out Sabu for a year until they finally meet at Barely Legal.

If you have him return only to face off against someone who's already semi-high profile, you're wasting an opportunity to have Taker mold a new star.

All the more reason for him to do it now. It's something new and unexpected. haha

^^^Cena???? WDF?

Key moments in the building of Cena (IMO)...

Debut's and holds his own against Kurt.
FU's Big SHow @ WM20
Beats JBL for the title @ WM21
Angle & Jericho job for him for remainder of year
HHH jobs for him @ WM22....

I don't see much, if any, significance in their throwaway title match.

What star has Taker EVER molded. Why would he do it now..

.

Pfft. Good ridance I say. The less I have see him make his big return after Mania and burry the current champ, the better.

Lesnar, Orton, Cena and Kane.

Cena's questionable, but the others were years ago. Lesnar 02, Orton was what 02 03, Kane, sometime in the 90's. I wont say he hasn't molded anyone, but for it to happen almost a decade ago? Somethings not right.

CM Punk immediately springs to mind.

Crushed upon Taker's return from holidaying in Death Valley. :sigh:

IMO the nearest he's come to doing anything close to 'building' since Orton in '05 was Kennedy, but they had him on that run where he was beating former world champs so he was pretty credible regardless.
