Jim Miller has never really defeated the upper echelon of the division. But interesting enough, his UFC record of 13-3 with 1 no contest gives him the most wins in the UFC's lightweight division, and that in itself is something not to be overlooked. And come UFC Fight Night 45, he'll be looking to keep his win streak alive.
Miller is unbeaten in his last four fights including a 2012 fight of the year candidate opposite Joe Lauzon and back to back first round submission wins. However, he admits that a win over Cerrone will be the most meaningful out of his few wins to date.
Miller has had mixed success in the octagon. He put on a seven fight winning streak from 2009-2011 before meeting Benson Henderson and has found trouble getting back on the horse ever since.
UFC Fight Night 50 is the best of both worlds for Miller he says, a chance to main event a show in his home state of New Jersey and with an opponent the caliber of Cerrone. Miller says he couldn't ask for anything more and will be looking to put Cerrone away early.
UFC Fight Night takes place Live next Tuesday from the Revel Casino in Atlantic City New Jersey.
