Ironically Brian James was hired a few days after Jarrett was fired, as Vice President of Live Events. Not that I’m crediting him with this, but during that four month period the live events business has gone up significantly. We’ve also heard mostly strong reports from those at the live events. This was a surprise, but in talking to people at the company, it shouldn’t have been. Bringing Jarrett back to the company was believed to have been a move Bruce Prichard suggested to Vince McMahon, and he’s not a member of the Paul Levesque team. It opens the spot up to someone that Levesque hand-picked from his own team.
This will lead to questions about Prichard in his spot and time will tell. Prichard is a guy who gets that his job is to service his boss. Talent thinks he’s a Vince McMahon guy with more of an idea of the entertainment side and that Levesque (Triple H) is more wrestling, but I think Prichard will service whatever vision Levesque wants. Nobody expects a lot of changes in a hurry but they do expect changes as Levesque will more and more bring in his guys.
