The drug case against Jeff Hardy was continued yet again today in Moore County, NC Superior Court. It has now been going on for 18 months.

The reason was that Assistant District Attorney Warren McSweeney asked Judge James Webb to continue to the case while they await the results of lab tests from the State Bureau of Investigation on some of the evidence that was seized from Hardy's home 9/11/2009.

The sides are both still working on a plea deal.

This continues to drag on. Until this is resolved it will be a blight on TNA whenever they use him. Especially after the events at Victory Road TNA should just cut their loses and fire him.

Note that TNA have pulled him from all house show events as well as Impact tapings.

This guy should really take up WWE's offer of free rehab.

Thats what the plea bargain is going to go down to.

If Jeff wasn't marginally famous and not white, this case would've been settle in 09 with Jeff in jail. He would've gotten out by now.

Well there has to be a reason why this hasn't even been processed yet, American justice seems to be slow and arduous.

Just a thought, wouldn't it be smart for the ADA to use footage of Hardy from Victory Road in court. This could be used to ensure that he gets some actual punishment because it shows that he still is using. The ADA could then get him at least into rehab if he isn't already.

The longer this goes the more chance I think there is of him serving jail time or being forced to go into rehab. Clearly both sides can't agree on a plea deal otherwise this would have been settled many months ago. Jeff Hardys lawyers wouldn't agree to anything with jail time whereas the DA would want Jeff to at least serve some jail time. I think that the minimum he will get is a month in rehab, other than that he might get a few weeks in jail.

Jeff Hardy shouldn't be getting anything, because this court case seems really clear and simple. Jeff Hardy was caught with various amounts of legal/illegal drugs and his home was raided for a legitimate reason, so I am baffled to why this case has been going on for three years. So, I honestly don't understand why Jeff Hardy has been working on a plea bargain, because he has already attended WWE's rehab a few times hasn't he or at least offered rehab? and look where that got him. He has failed to stay clean, so does he deserve another shot at rehab this time around, especially when he has been to rehab already. Jeff Hardy has had a history of drug problems, so I think that it would be very simple for them to sentence him to a long stay mandatory rehab, at least until get himself clean. I'll be honest I haven't been following the Jeff Hardy trial, because I though it ended awhile ago and never really heard anything about it. Jeff Hardy screwed up and should face some punishment for his crime and be a man about it and get it over and done with.

This justice system is a joke, why does it take over 3 years to process an open and shut case like this? A guy who gets busted for marijuana can get caught 3 times and face life in prison in the same time frame and this asshole can't get put away for this?

Today's scheduled hearing in the criminal case against former WWE and TNA champion Jeff Hardy was continued because Hardy's defense attorney asked the Judge for additional time in order for Hardy to be assessed for whether he needs treatment for drug dependency.

According to North Carolina newspaper The Southern Pines Pilot, Becky Carlson, the district administrator for the 19-B J.D. Sentencing Services Program, is scheduled to assess Hardy. Since she has just taken on the case and would need to assess him as well as get a second opinion, that process has not yet been completed.

Should Hardy's assessment turn up that he needs help for a drug dependency, it could lead to a plea deal that ends the criminal case against him.
A hearing is now set for 6/27, according to the Pine report, which you can read by clicking here.

This is ridiculous, these lawyers are making a mint from this trial.

Does Jeff need treatment for drug dependency? Clearly the answer is yes and I don't know why they need to ask some experts about that and I don't know why it has taken this long into the case for his attorney to do this.

They call him a former WWE and TNA champion. Thankfully not current champion.
