Yeah. Honestly, Jeff shouldn't have been allowed back in the business going as far back as that fucking debacle vs Sting back in 2011.

He has made zero attempts at reconciliation nor effort to clean up his act. He's over 40 and I don't see a magical DDP recovery for him sadly. The best thing for him is a medically mandated anti-alcohol drug like Antabuse and constant breathalyzer tests.

At some point, he's going to become a felon with his behavior, and when that day comes, I'm going to be sorely disappointed but not surprised.

Jeff's got a serious addiction problem - firing him doesn't help solve his problems though. TK took him on knowing he had issues - should take on the responsibility that comes with hiring someone who suffers from addiction. Firing him - is just a villain move.

I do believe (could be misremembering) that he had a sobriety clause but ig we will see. If not fired he should be indefintely suspended and offered rehab

I dont think i could ever risk putting him in the ring again though. The liability is through the roof. I agree in principle they should offer him help too though, youre right.

If he didn't have clauses or even some sort of in house drug testing go on and other coping mechanisms - then I'm not impressed. If they had stuff like this in place - they still need to be a safety net and react with no surprise, because addiction doesn't go away.

But meh - I am putting too much faith in the carney world

this honesty might be one of your best posts. I actually completely agree with you that AEW has some responsibility to bear here.

I agree Tony takes responsibility for hiring him, but there’s nothing wrong with letting go a liability. Jeff will never clean up his act and be a reliable performer for AEW.

And Vince was bad for wanting him to go to rehab.

Not I this time. I thought people cleared him way too easy.

I can certainly see value in both arguments here. The main issues are liability and trust from the employers side. Compassion is certainly also a fair thing with what Juice said, they knowingly did this hire with the risk involved so yeah. Offer help yes. But I'll stand by that I don't think he really deserves a shot on tv or in the ring. perhaps he can clean up his act and eventually come back in a backstage role, I would consider that as an employer. Certainly lots to think about for Mr. Khan today.

Man made me look like a fool for trusting him. Not again.
I think there's a lot of people feeling betrayed today for sure. Addiction fucking sucks man. Legit breaks my heart even if I'm massively disappointed.

Yeah if they wanna hire him then they should specifically alcohol/drug test him weekly and if he refuses then dont hire him.
