JBL to TNA?

Fuck. I hope not either. Wrestling wise, he should retire. But I actually enjoy him as an onscreen character. He's dynamite on the mic and would be a great GM, if they would allow the GM character to stay around more than 1 year.

Having JBL as a heel manager in TNA or anywhere isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. The fact that TNA has so many wrestlers et al. as it is makes a JBL signing kinda useless unless they clean up their roster a lot.

Lol at wrestling sites, first, they report this:

Former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield appeared on Live Audio Wrestling this past Sunday and said the reason he's no longer with WWE is that when he retired as an active wrestler at WrestleMania in Houston, they didn't offer him anything. He indicated if he was offered an announce position or role as General Manager, he'd have been interested.

This was weird enough as JBL himself said in WWE Universe that he was taking a break of wrestling altogether and he wasn't interested in any other role.

Then, this:

While this wasn't brought up during his radio show appearance, it has been confirmed that he has had talks with TNA about joining the company. Nothing as of yet has materialized

Confirmed? By who?


And finally, our Wrestling God ends this rumor via the way the wrestling universe seems to communicate as of late...twitter:

Former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield took to his Twitter in denying rumors of a wrestling-related career shakeup. According to the former champion, there is no truth to any reports of JBL considering a TNA run.

"No talks of tna and no regrets on my career-internet rumors are completely bogus. I am happy playing golf and being retired," noted Layfield.

again I listen to Live Audio Wrestling every week and when JBL was discussing the not being offered a non wrestling role what they were saying is that yes had he been offered a GM or announcing job he would have stayed, but with Taz's departure already known the WWE had already taken steps to fill all the announcing positions, and the WWE is really key on getting both Grisham & Striker ready to take over the bigger shows in preperation for is and when JR & Lawler decide to hang up the microphone so to speak.

The GM there just wasn't a viable option. Had there been an opening it was believed WWE would have definatly offered it to JBL to stay.

JBL wrote on the WWE website on the rumors of him talking with TNA Wrestling

"Vince McMahon gave me an opportunity back in December of 1995 and through WWE everything I have financially has been possible. I would never go to a competitor of any kind out of respect for the opportunity I was given.

I have not had talks with TNA about joining TNA. I wish TNA the very best and Dixie Carter has been nothing but great to me as a fellow supporter of the troops where I have met her a couple of times as my role of emcee with The American Freedom Foundation, a fundraiser for our wounded heroes-perhaps this is where the misinformation came from, or from our connection in Nashville since we both have homes there and business. Mrs. Carter has never approached me about joining TNA, nor has anyone else from the company.

Let me repeat-I have never had talks with TNA and they have never approached me about joining their company. I wish all of them the very best, but I am a WWE guy and will never be anything but a WWE guy.

I have no intentions, at this time, of returning to the ring or wrestling, it has not been brought up by WWE in any way, but I left the way I wanted-which I am eternally grateful for-if I did return in any way to wrestling again-it would only be with WWE."

Interesting to see Dixie Carter and TNA mentioned on the WWE website.
