Congratulations are in order for James Ellsworth...
I have to admit this is pretty cool.

I know some wrestling "fans" can't stand the guy...
but I like what he adds to SmackDown.

I will be curious to see what they do with him in the
long run...perhaps he and Ambrose could "challenge"
Rhyno & Slater for the tag titles...or may-be he could
wrestle for the Cruiserweight title if the title & division
end up on SmackDown.

He could be a personal assistant to Shane & Daniel
or possibly turn heel on Ambrose at TLC and "align"
himself with A.J Styles.

I also like the idea of having him "chase " one of
women wrestlers in a possible romantic story line.
Come on...if that was written well it would be funny
as hell.

What I'm trying to say is there are a lot of options
for what they could do with Ellsworth...so hopefully
they continue to use him the right way and keep it
fresh and entertaining.

That's crazy. The first jobber-turned-superstar.

Wouldn't Barry Horowitz have been the first? He was a perennial jobber for WWF for years before he got an IC title shot against Jeff Jarrett, a pinfall victory over Chris Candido (Skip)an entry in the 1996 Royal Rumble and a push that seems very similar to the one Ellsworth is getting now.

Wasn't he signed before he started jabbing?

I don't know 100% for sure, but if he was signed it wasn't to an exclusive contract. Horowitz wrestled for several independent promotions concurrent with his WWF run, so my impression was that he was just a jobber too.

WWE has been lenient on allowing guys to work PPA recently if they are smaller level guys. The Spirit squad are PPA. Rhyno is suppossed to be PPA and same with some of the cruiserweights on RAW as well.

Honestly... I'm not a big fan of this from WWE's standpoint. Thrilled for Ellsworth! Awesome to see him cashing in on all this momentum, it's a really cool story.
But now they've signed him as this thing has run its course. There's some cool things you can do with the guy, him having a Rumble spot will be pretty cool and SD can use a jobber face.
But putting his involvement with Ambrose/Styles to bed after TLC will likely be for the best.

People who are overly negative about this bothers me. James is living a damn dream and in rare WWE fashion, the company isn't missing the boat by like 5 years - they're cashing in on his appeal. It's a good move.

Will they overexpose him soon? I mean maybe, but that's no reason to bitch and complain about it before it even happens. Let's enjoy it. At least I will, a smile always comes across my face when he appears on camera, that vibe of him having the best time of his life comes across so well.

Ellsworth was funny for the first few months, now they're just pushing it on purpose I'm guessing.

Can we have a backstage segment where Ellsworth "accidentally" spills a bucket
of paint/oil/mustard on a returning Eva Marie? That would be the lols.
