Coming of the biggest win of his career, UFC welterweight Jake Ellenberger, who destroyed Jake Shields in less than a minute at UFC Fight Night 25, spoke to TATAME TV at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, about his plans to 2012, who might include fighting Diego Sanchez, his trip to Brazil and the dream of fighting for the UFC championship against Georges St. Pierre. “I definitely believe I can beat GSP, I believe I can beat anyone in my weight class in the worldâ€￾, he said.

I haven't really thought about Ellenberger as a contender but looking at his record he is close to a shot. I like the sound of Ellenberger vs. Sanchez and the winner of that fight getting a title shot after the winner of Condit/Koscheck.

I like the idea. And him saying "i can beat GSP" pretty strong words, not sure if he really can. GSP is quite the beast

I agree it is tough to think that anyone can actually beat GSP because he has been so dominant for years, the same goes for Anderson Silva. Not sure if Ellenberger can do it but I like that there are some interesting fights ahead in the division.

Oh yeah for sure, pretty much every division has some really good fights coming up. I'll use UFC 140 as a perfect example for that, the entire card is stacked with quality fights from each division.

This guy would get destroyed against GSP, GSP would kick this guy so hard in the skull.... he would want to quit. Jake Shields isn't a huge contendor anyways so he didn't make a very big achievement.

Well Jake Ellenberger isn't a bad fighter by any means, but GSP would likely wreck him in the octagon.

Criminally underated guy, him and Kampmann are probably the two most overlooked guys in MMA tbh.

I'd agree with you on Ellenberger, i don't know a whole lot about Kampmann though so i can't really say.
