Jack Taylor's 138 point game

Can't see how any sports fans haven't heard about this yet about this kid in a D3 college scoring a NCAA record 138 points. Put up a crazy 108 shot attempts, going 27 for 71 from 3 point range and 52 of 108 overall. Some people think it's an amazing feat some people think it was a disgrace because they feel like we shouldn't celebrate ball hogging and stat padding not to mention the running up the score issue too.

Personally I find it hard to have an issue with this when I don't have an issue with Wilt scoring a 100. Was never one to have an issue with running up the score since that is on the defense to stop it. If they don't want to be embarrassed do something about it.

Think after about 50 points they should have put like 4 guys on him lol. They're like a church school so wouldn't expect them to knock the kid out but they should have made an exception you can't just let yourself get raped like that.

After doing the math, those are pretty decent percentages, too. 48% overall, 38% from three. You'd think that when you take that many shots. you wouldn't shoot very well.

My issue is it's not really that impressive... he shot 48% from the field and 38% from three... you give a good college player 108 shots (71 of which are three's) and he'll score 138 on a bad night... When Dajuan Wagner scored 100 a few years ago he shot 48-60 from the field (that's 80% and that is impressive) this kid is a lucky kid who was chosen to take all the shots one night as part of a stupid gimmick system. They've already reported that this record will most likely be broken again this year by either this kid or another member of the team because they pick one player each game who literally takes all of their shots, when another player scores it's either off an offensive board or turnover. This is an absolute joke as is the coach of that "team"

What's a joke is that if teams know this let one guy score his ass off strategy then just stack a bunch of guys against that player. If the player can still get his points despite that then they deserve to score.

Exactly.

I mean hell, a lot of his shots were even pretty well contested from the 3-point range. But still, people can call it bad coaching that the coach of the winning team picks one player to take most of the shots, but the real bad coaching is from the other coach who did absolutely nothing to stop him from shooting.

They announced they were going to try this shit before the game and the other team knew it. So what did they do? They wanted to be apart of history so they let him shot and score as much as this kid wanted. It was garbage. The game shouldn't even be taken seriously. I heard the coach on First Take earlier from the losing team and he sounds like the biggest pussy ever. Just such a push over, no competitive nature whatsoever.
