I think he could be; the idea that he can feud with HHH for like 3 straight PPVs. With him losing all the matches but looking as a solid contender.

I dont think that he should be the champ anytime soon though. He still needs more than what he has right now. I dunno what, but I feel that he is lacking that something that helds him back from being a true champion atm.

That 'something'? .....THE BELT!

Trust me... It'll all fall into place as he walks through the curtains on the Friday after wins. ;o]

MVP is God.

Airfixx, I agree with you 100%. Sunday should've been MVP's night. It seemed the perfect time to give him the belt.

People talk about Shelton putting on great matches week after week, so has MVP. He had a good match with Festus for gods sake. Plus, he is on another level in terms of mic work...while Jeff Hardy, well, he is less than entertaining promowise, they always seem so forced and boring.

All this will pan out though, MVP shall win the Royal Rumble.

No, he's not ready yet.

MVP is a star in the making for sure but he's only been around a couple of years, he's not had too many high profile great matches/performances yet, although always consistent. His gimmick is good and his promos are good but he's not a big player yet. He says he's a big player - but it's all talk based on mainly mediocre matches and only a small number of good memorable wins. This is not main event material to me, considering he's not been around long. I want to see him prove more before he convinces me he deserves title shots.

Would I be opposed to MVP being in the main event right now? Hell no...
Do I think he's ready?...eh, probably not.
MVP is one of WWE's brightest prospects right now. He's doing alright where he is for the time being, but he really needs that one truly memorable feud to push him into the main event status. Sure, he's had some great matches and ran an entertaining program with Matt Hardy, but I still don't think that's enough right now. The only problem is that there aren't many mid card faces on the Smackdown brand right now that they could possibly pair him with in a program that a win would mean much over. Let's face it, they guys to beat over on Smackdown right now are HHH, Undertaker, Edge and possibly the Big Show and there really aren't any people that come immediately to mind on the Smackdown roster who could be put legit over guys like that.
BTW...I've heard rumors of Edge heading over to RAW so......that eliminates one more.
