For years, even though WWE is still separated into brands, it doesn't seem as relevant as it has been between 02-05. I loved the brand warfare and distinction that came between the shows. Now-a-days (mostly during Mania) WWE just randomly switches stars back and fourth appearing on other shows for no explained reason or justification as to why one show's superstar can be on the other brand. WWE moves their guys to whatever brand they want just to satisfy themselves for a failed attempt at actually booking that match in the long run and having the match up make sense. It is sort of hard to explain. WWE tried to re-ignite the brand warfare theme in Bragging Rights, but just one PPV isn't enough to really justify a brand feud. Do you see where I am coming from?

I think if the WWE keeps the brand extension (sp?) War Games is a must for Bragging Rights.

I must be missing something, because with the exception of the Tag Team Champions and some ECW ocassions, or now with the beginning of WM season, I have not seen superstars randomly appearing on other shows or the brand separation being attacked so to speak

Sure, nowadays we don't have a sense of rivalry between the brands like we used, but the brand separation has been respected since the draft

What I am saying is that like last year Triple H coming to Raw as WWE champ as a member of SD. Shouldn't Orton gone to SD to meet their champ? The triple threat last year has the same thing. Edge was champ on Smackdown, I believe Big Show was on Smackdown. Cena somehow got into the match? From a different brand? Then this year with Batista. All of a sudden he is on Raw because he is Raw's champ? They need to keep things straight either winning another brand's title brings you to that brand or you take that belt to your own brand.

just combine brands again already, Jesus. Your cutting a ton of wrestlers anyways, make room, and combine brands again. Hell... make shows longer if need-be

I still think it should just be one big roster. They would be able to do so much more. SD guys show up on Raw, Raw guys show up on SD, there is no difference here whatsoever. They might as well just make it one big roster again, anyways.

The idea was cool at first but it's played out it's time and you can tell they are dying for good ideas and they can't get any because they only have so much to work with. Guys are getting shoved to the side, just like they were before the split, so the whole point of using people better and giving them some spotlight is lost, anyways.

I'm still undecided as to whether or not the brand split is still needed. I go back-and-forth on it every day, it seems. However, given that it exists, I feel that it should be stricter. Even the draft should only move around 3 - 4 guys, and there should be no way around it otherwise. At this point, there are very few fresh feuds left in the WWE. If you looked at the WWE even 5 years ago, things like Angle/Triple H, Angle/Michaels, Cena/Jericho, Cena/Orton, Cena/Batista, Orton/Undertaker, Orton/Booker T, JBL/Triple H, JBL/Michaels (...you get it) were all fresh. With main events much more free to move around, you lose that. In my view, it starts with making brand-only PPVs again. 4 Smackdown-only, 4 Raw-only, and 4 unified.

Thanks Axis I forgot about the brand only PPV's. That really did wonders by separating the brands properly. It gave each brand it's own time to showcase their brand only feuds without ever worrying about crossing paths with the other brand. That would be interesting to see them do that again.

Kinda funny how back a few years when brand extensions were more exclusive, everyone started bitching about how lame it's gotten. Now people want it back?

I think that it needs to be brought all into one. Both SD and Raw are usually 3/4's filler anyway. Plus, it would give a little more air time to develop feuds that actually matter. Many people in the business have said that the reason it became what it was, in people's minds anyway, is Vince's idea to re-create the competition. Obviously, that idea bombed, if at all true. There is no reason to have brand extensions. It'd be nice though if they did delegate at least the two world titles to there respective shows, but other then that, let people float about. And imo, SD needs all the star power they can get, you know, with last week's 1.8 rating and all.

I completely agree with this. The brands need to be seperate or together. There should be no inbetween. I hate seeing wrestlers show up on each show unannounced and really for no reason other than to just be booked in some crappy match.

I like the 02-05 era where it was completely sepearate. They slowly let superstars develop feuds and only have cross brand matches at WrestleMania. Right now, it just seems like WWE is just one big cluster fuck.
