Harper in that division is just a stupid idea imo. It completely ruins the point of the division. We don't want to see monsters in a cruiserweight division brah.

Didn't you also just say that it shouldn't be a cruiser weight division, but a x-division (which technically ain't the same thing). You have me confused.

The best part of the traditional X-div is that you can see any type of cat in it, as long as they can work the style. Which makes it much more fun.

I said larger wrestlers dropping down into it could be great. Wrestlers like Randy Orton who can work with athletic types really well. I don't want to see a bearded monster in the cruiser division, that just seems pointless to me.

Even when said bearded monster can work the required style?

Yes. Your interpretation of how well he can work it is subjective as well remember. Just because he may be able to do a few more athletic things than most men his size, it doesn't mean he can full on go with these guys. I personally just wouldn't want to see it and it wouldn't even be a good thing for his character. If he comes down and squashes someone in that division then it's sort of burying it. If he comes down and loses to someone half his size, then it kills his monster aura. It's not good for anyone involved.

I'm not basing it on that he can do a rana and a suicide dive. I'm basing it on his body of work pre-wwe. Dude cut his teeth in CZW (a hardcore fed with a good high flyer scene), Chikara (high flyer dominated, Harper and Cesaro were easily the two biggest dude's there physically during their run so they had to know how to work with and like smaller guys) and Dragon Gate and Dragon Gate USA (Two feds based on the cruiser/junior work style).

As for it hurting his monster aura, that all depends on how you book it and how much faith one has in the booking.

Anyone below 6ft is traditionally a cruiser if I am not mistaken, but if they put on mass can be considered a light heavy instead. So Kidd is a cruiser but Gabriel being 6ft1 is traditionally more of a light heavy (apples and oranges depending on how you look at it).

I wanna see Harper in it, because the dude can fucking fly/go.
I believe its about weight, not height. 215 lbs IIRC

I'm down for this division if it was managed and run properly. There are so many guys like Kidd, Gabriel, Cara, Bourne etc.. Who could run wild in this division and give us some great matches instead of pointless garbage.

For the weight deal, when Lance Storm was WCW Cruiserweight Champion, he renamed it to the "100 Kilograms and Under Championship" (that's 220 lbs. to the non-metric-speakers...like me). So, generally a weight limit of 215 - 220 is usually what's accepted.

As to guys who were not cruiserweight size, I add to Joe and Angle the names of Jeff Hardy and Christian, who both competed for the X-Division Championship in TNA. However, I renew my statement that "cruiserweight" should be defined by the style in which a wrestler works, not his size. Hell, for most of his indy career and the beginning of his WWE career, CM Punk worked a mainly "cruiserweight" style.

No way in hell he weighs over 220 either. So yea, Punk is a cruiserweight by definition. Hardy and Christian are both cruiserweights as well.

And so are Jericho, Bryan, HBK, etc.

My point is that we shouldn't look at actual weight, but style of wrestling.

Think one of the main examples you can use here is Del Rio, who's hardly a cruiserweight but can definitely work a fast-paced, exciting match. So he belongs in there, but by wwelogic you can then expect RVD's fat ass to win the belt :downer:

Anyway, if you want to make it a Cruiserweight division, the 225 pound and under guys are Christian, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Diego, Dolph Ziggler, Evan Bourne, Fernando, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Kofi Kingston, Miz, R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Seth Rollins, Sin Cara, Tyson Kidd, Xavier Woods, Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder.

Pretty good talent roster if you replace Miz. Would mark to see a Cody-Dolph feud for the Cruiserweight belt.

:lol1: Was that 100 kilos thing part of his Canadian/anti-USA deal? Loved it.

That's what the X Division is about lol. But the fact is 90% of the people who wrestle that style are also going to fall into the category as cruiserweights.

I'm confused as to what anyone is arguing about at this point. Yea the X Division wasn't about weight limits, but still almost all of the competitors easily could have fallen in line if there were one. It was just a cruiserweight division + Joe the fucking GOD
