There's no way Rock would agree to look like an absolute fool out there, and he can't make himself go red either. He was humiliated. They were semi-shooting too, was pretty hostile stuff which made great television. I completely understand why Rock used notes, so I don't see the big outrage by Rock marks myself. It's common sense for someone like him to use notes.

It's even been brought up in this thread about how WWE wants Cena to look at least equal to Rock on the mic, which makes it completely logical for Cena's comment to be a work. The audience couldn't read what was written anyway, so from their POV, it wouldn't/shouldn't have seemed like such a devastating put down anyway, just somewhat clever on Cena's part. Plus, we know Rock will lose at Wrestlemania. He's willing to lose the big match against Cena at Wrestlemania after a year of trash talking him, but he's not willing to let Cena get a good insult in during one promo on Raw?

I can see that as they're giving the majority what they want it just bugs me at times. I agree they're pushing this hybrid too much, he can't really be The Rock anymore as we all know him as the actor now. If it was me Dwayne would have been feuding with Cena but he'd gradually turn to The Rock closer to Mania. Like he's reaching deep down. Then again that's probably abit too metaphorical for the WWE.

Exactly my point. Rock has been demolishing cena in pretty much every promo they have been in. WWE needed something to make Cena even close to being equal with rock on the mic. Hence the writing on wrist story.
