Okay...so...where do I begin...
Lana broke down, then lashed out after a rough night on SmackDown
Look...I know not everyone can be A.J Styles or Sasha Banks in the ring...
I know all wrestlers have their strengths and weaknesses and should be
booked in matches that will best allow them to use their skills to the best
of their abilities.
But I'm a little concerned about "The Lana Situation"
Now I've made it no secret in the past that I'm a big fan of both Rusev & Lana
and especially with their past "Rocky 4" inspired but outdated gimmick.
Now I've read a lot of rumors about backstage heat on both Rusev & Lana...
mostly stemming back from their engagement during that awful couples
feud with Dolph Ziggler & Summer Rae...and most recently with Rusev
cutting his hair off without alerting creative he was doing so.
I mean its not hard to believe that Rusev has pissed someone off as his
booking has been a complete train wreck basically since his feud with
Roman Reigns last year.
I mean Rusev lost to the Big Show at Fastlane...remember that? I mean
I know we are all trying hard to forget Fastlane was even an event...but
it did happen.
Now I guess if the WWE wants to book Rusev to be defeated and possibly
squashed every week...that's fine...Rusev is a fantastic worker and while he
may-be slightly injury prone...he can handle whatever the WWE throws at him.
Lana on the other hand...well...its a different story.
Now I respect Lana for putting in the work to become a full time in-ring performer
and she no doubt has a great look and solid mic skills...but putting Lana in the
ring with women like Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Naomi just seems...
cruel to me.
Now I know they may-be trying to tell some kind of story with Lana and Tamina...
and it may also be the original story that they intended to tell with Eva Marie
or Emmalina (although Emma can actually wrestle) but Lana just isn't ready
for the main roster.
She seems very awkward in the ring and frankly...she looks kind of flimsy...
at least she does when compared to the other women on the roster.
I understand that many female WWE performers have been elevated to the
main roster before they were seemingly ready (Dana Brooke, Nia Jax, Carmella
& Alexa Bliss...although Alexa definitely tried to prove everyone wrong) but
with Lana...I just worry that the WWE may still have some kind of vendetta
against her and this entire "story line" with Tamina may just be another way
for the WWE to punish her and Rusev as a couple.
The other problem I have with Lana being used the way she is...is well...she
is taking a spot that could easily filled by someone else...someone with better
in-ring skills that could easily play the "Sexy Femme Fatale" character they
want.
I'm just going to place this photo of Peyton Royce & Billie Kay here...
In fact why did the WWE waste all their time and effort with that Emmalina
bullshit when they had 2 sexy Aussies in NXT who could have played that
role perfectly?
Am I insane?
I mean its not like either woman is going to get a run with the NXT
women's title...so why not promote them instead of having Lana
look incredibly awkward and unprepared for the main roster.
I'm not saying Lana shouldn't be wrestling...I just think she should
not be wrestling on the main roster right now.
