Ipod Question/Discussion

I find it easier to sort your stuff with a PSP. I've got one memory card full of death metal, one for classic rock, one of grunge/90's shit...ect ect you get the point. AND...I can play games and watch movies on a screen larger than a fucking listerene strip.
I think it's pretty ridiculous people who go out and buy these 80 gig ipods. Unless you're putting tons of movies and shit on it your are NEVER going to fill that iPod up with music you enjoy. And god forbid you want to share you music with someone when you have an iPod...as soon as you hook your shit up to another computer Apple ass rapes your iPod.

I bought an 80 gig Ipod. and half is filled up. I'm constantly getting music and I look at this as a long term purchase of which I'm going to use for a long time.

My computer is dead in the water so ill either have to install itunes on a new operating system or new computer. I have my Ipod synced up manually to the old one. Whats my odds of losing all my music, when hooking up to a new Itunes. (do i just keep my old account?)

If you have your Ipod settings on automaticly sync anything, what ever is on your ipod will be erased and what ever is on the computer will be added. If you have the settings set as manually add music, you'll be fine. The settings are saved to the ipod, not the computer.

But if you have like the music set to manually add music, but the (for example) movies set to automatically sync, you'll lose your movies but not your music.

iTunes is BULLSHIT. I went on an iTunes spree at some point last year and bought an insane amount of music....cool right.
I went out to buy another iPod and hooked that fucker up, it tells me I have to upgrade iTunes in order for the iPod to work....cool
I upgrade iTunes. ALL of my music is gone. The hundreds of songs I had bought over time, not to mention the thousands of other songs I had on there.
And to make matters worse.......THE FUCKING NEW IPOD DIDN'T EVEN WORK!

Apple is the fuckin antichrist....I really don't understand why people have such a hard on for them. User friendly my balls. Apple's are Apple friendly.

Cool, its set up manually. I'm glad it saves it to the ipod not the computer.

Yea, I know that from experience. I'm not the type to read instructions on stuff, I usually find out for myself. And I know this from experience. When I 1st got the ipod Nano 5 years ago maybe, I had it set to auto (I knew nothing about changing the settings) and hooked it up to my brothers computer to get songs and lost all of mine. I was pissed but it was my fault. So I went and toyed with a lot on iTunes and my iPod's (I'm on my 3rd one). And I hooked mine up to many other people's computers just to see how the whole "automatic sync/manual" things worked. So as long as you have everything set to manual you can hook it up to any comp without the problem of losing your items on it.

@noumenon: only problems I've had with my ipod and iTunes is stuff that I've done to cause the problems.

Only times my Ipod's fucked up is when I tried to change them theme. I had to restore my Ipod to original settings and just add my music again.

Handy tip. Get a portable hard drive for you computer that backs up, and then put your music on there.
