Later this month there is a scheduled Invicta FC show, weeks before their one year anniversary. With four shows to date, the promotion's president Shannon Knapp looks to keep their momentum going.
One of the next steps involves landing a TV channel deal.

"I think we're going to surprise a lot of people in 2013," said Knapp to MMA Fighting. "Nothing is concrete. Something could fall through. But there are a lot of good things happening with Invicta and a partnership. I feel confident 2013 is the year we'll find our home."

Knapp's ultimate goal would be for Invicta FC to host around 10 shows per year. Without a TV deal, that number can't surpass six shows. The upcoming show will be the second of the year and late June or early July is looking like the third card of 2013. The president also mentioned that the promotion plans to remain in Kansas City.

Invicta FC 5 is April 5 out of the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, MO. The show is highlighted with atomweight champion Jessica Penne vs. Michelle Waterson and Barb Honchak vs. Vanessa Porto for the inaugural flyweight championship. It streams on their official site for $9.95 by clicking here.

Finally an all women MMA promotion on national TV.

Chicks kickin' ass, what isn't there to like?

I really dig this potential situation. I wouldn't mind seeing an all women's MMA promotion get a TV deal. Women's MMA has just only begun to catch on in the UFC, but has been successful elsewhere like in Strikeforce, so I see this being a good move. Personally, I enjoy watching the women scrap just as much as the men, mainly because there are some bad ass femals who put those five ounce gloves on. I vote yes for this.

Yeah especially with Cyborg making her way into Invicta, that'll definitely beef up the roster on top of bring some image. Sometimes bringing in old more accomplished fighters is good for competition, because than we get to see who has the ability to either stand the test or knock them off.

Women scraps are good, especially the Rousey/Carmouche fight in UFC. And I can't wait til Rousey coaches The Ultimate Fighter, 2013 is definitely gonna be the year that women's MMA rises.
