Plot: A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.

Director: Christopher Nolan

Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain & Michael Caine

Release: November 7, 2014

Only a teaser mostly filled with stock footage but oh well. I'm sure this movie will be great especially with Nolan behind it. Will be a worldwide hit/phenomenon sort of like Inception was.

Saw the trailer last night before I watched The Hobbit and I'm pretty excited. I fucking hate trailers that give away half the movie, the ones like this are my favorite. Although it is the first trailer so there's still a good chance the rest give away a good bit of the movie. Still don't know what to expect from the movie itself, but I like Nolan's work so I'll be watching. Don't give a fuck if it's a worldwide phenomenon or whatever as long as I enjoy the movie.

Its a pretty top notch cast. Have not always liked McConahaugy but recently he has proved what he can do, Hathaway and Chastain are two of the best actresses working today and Caine is always relieable. With Nolan directing it also it could be one of next year's best films.

Still don't get how people never liked McConaughey. Maybe it's hometown bias (<30 minutes from his at least), but I've always loved the guy and thought he was pretty underrated.

Its the Rom-com stigma but whats interesting is I read a interview with him where he said he had done 40 films and only five of them had been Rom-coms, a bit like Sandra Bullock it gets overlooked just how many different things he has done. To me he just seemed a bland actor, but I am glad he is proving me wrong.

BTW have you seen a film with McConaughey from the 90's called Lone Star? Very good film.

Prbably because he just played the same guy in every movie....Just because a guy loses abunch of weight for a role, doesn't make him a great actor all of a sudden, still the same guy who lost alot of weight.

Hopefully this is more Prestige than Inception, because I thought Inception was overcomplicated and ultimately boring.

Mud and the Paper Boy were really good. Most of his bigger films (marketed highly) were very similar and were those 5 rom coms

I would say things like Killer Joe, Magic Mike and older stuff like Reign of Fire or Lone Star prove a bit more of a range. Prestige is actually my least favourite Nolan film, so I hope it is more like Momento.

Prestige was his best work, and the only Nolan non Batman movie I watched more than once. Memento was a one gimmick movie that was boring when you got past that. The dialogue was terrible and it was just a dull movie. It's like Avatar, get past the pretty colours and the movie isn't all that great.

And LOL Magic Mike can't even hide his accent......what range.

Well I don't know what film you were watching when you saw Memento, the one I saw was a skillfully crafted thriller, with a tense atmosphere and three very good performances, it was nothing like a special effects fest. As for being a one gimmick movie it may appear that way because part of the films strength is that it leaves things open ended, leaving the viewer to work things out. Naturally it will have a lot of repretition because of the main conceit, but its more character driven and is about his reactions and how he works things out.

Agree with Memento. It's good for one viewing but I could never watch it again. Never been the biggest Nolan fan think he does a decent job but gets overhyped.

I look forward to watching this but lets examine the "trailer"

It's ripped off from the opening of Star Trek Enterprise and tells you next to nothing. I'm a huge fan of trailers that don't give too much away but from the trailer I don't even know who else is in the damn movie. So I'll assume the cast of inception and Batman

Don't you think as it gets closer to its release the trailers will get longer and show a bit more? Nolan is such hot property right now and with a cast like that it don't have to give much away to get people interested. Don't forget the early trailers for Fight Club just showed the bar of soap.

I know it will that's why we get 5 trailers per movie now. But you aren't going to convince me ripping off the trailer idea from somewhere else makes a good trailer. It makes him cheap showing that this pony is running out of stream can't even think up his own concepts anymore. Or that this trailer tells me something that the name doesnt. Being "edgy and cool" doesn't always work I'd rather him say fuck off with the teaser give me one actual trailer and say fuck off with the other 4 of those. He's such a "hot property" why not?

Stock footage means, he hasn't shot anything yet.

As far as I know the director doesn't normally come up with the trailers so why are you pinning this on him? Quite often the trailers don't actually do the film justice. Maybe he has run out of tricks only time will tell.
