The biggest talking point in the aftermath of Mexico City’s two-day ‘Back in Business’ extravaganza seemed to be the retirement of Shawn Summers, which sent a shockwave through the professional wrestling world and asked questions about the future of the FWA Television Championship. It seems that another prominent wrestler will also be absent from competition for the foreseeable future. Many news outlets are reporting that weaselperson, otherwise known as Zachary Kazadi, suffered tears to his hamstring, quad, and both ACL’s, along with a fractured clavicle and punctured retina, during his hard-hitting countout loss to Alyster Black.
How long weaselperson will be out for is unknown, but experts say such a menagerie of injuries is likely to keep him out of the ring for the rest of 2023 and much of 2024, too. His spot in the Golden Opportunity, therefore, has been relinquished, with FWA management said to be scrambling to find a solution. An announcement of some sort is being readied for Meltdown XXXII in Havana, Cuba.
weaselperson made his debut in early 2023, defeating Logan Darwin in singles competition before losing in the first round of the King of the Deathmatch tournament to Trixie Bordeaux. A change in the man beneath the suit, from relative newcomer Jonathan Snow to FWA alumnus Zackary Kazardi, saw much-improved in-ring performances for weaselperson. They re-debuted with a runner-up finish in 2023’s Carnal Contendership, and then recorded impressive victories over FWA World Champion Chris Peacock and his latest challenger Cyrus Truth in the run-up to Back in Business. weaselperson’s defeat to Alyster Black came a month after another loss to Danny Toner, with the pecking order amongst these five men at the top of the promotion anyone’s guess thanks to unpredictable results over the past three months.
