Nope, I'm 99% sure. Hashimoto is a common last name over there. It just happened they're of similar age, heh. Daichi is the son of New Japan's most belowed legend ever, Shinya Hashimoto, he debuted in 2010/11, and right off the bat, he was destined to fill his dad's shoes, he's just 21 and already faced some elite puro legends such as Chono, Muto, Takayama, Otani, Sasaki, etc. His contract with Z1 (the fed founded by his dad) expired one week ago, and he refused to sign a new one, he chose to go freelance (a la Takayama, MiSu, etc.), therefore we will see him in almost every fed out there. He said he wants to go overseas as well. Currently he's sidelined with a jaw injury (Tenryu), until June.
I think it's only a matter of time before New Japan picks him and gives him a proper treatment. Sure, it's a GIGANTIC pressure for a 21- year old boy to make a follow-up on his dad's career, but they're gonna try anyway. He even uses his legendary theme song (0:25):
But as of now, Kazuki is way better, more charismatic and just... better overall. Check EVERYTHING from him this year.
